  1. Why would any true Rangers fan speak to the BBC after last night's character assassination of Mr Whyte? Rangers fan MacMillan says Whyte claims 'disturbing' One of Rangers' highest profile fans said allegations about new club owner Craig Whyte carried in a BBC Scotland documentary were "quite disturbing". John MacMillan, general secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, said Mr Whyte was "duty bound" to make a statement to fans on the programme. He said former owner Sir David Murray should address claims that Lloyds Bank forced through the Whyte deal. Mr Whyte has instructed legal action over the documentary. Speaking to the BBC Scotland news website, Mr MacMillan said: "We have to recognise that, at this point, these are allegations and if they are proven to be false then Craig Whyte will have recourse through the courts. "If the allegations are genuine, however, then we have a very worrying situation indeed." Mr MacMillan described as "disturbing" the contribution from Robert Burns, the head of investigation and enforcement at the UK government Insolvency Service. These things have to be answered and Sir David Murray should come out and make a statement” Mr Burns said his agency took the view that a company it had looked into was "being controlled, or certainly had the involvement of an individual (Mr Whyte) who was disqualified" from acting as a director. Asked if Mr Whyte should make a statement addressing these allegations, Mr MacMillan said: "Without a shadow of a doubt". "I think for clarification Craig Whyte is duty-bound to come out and make a statement to Rangers supporters," he said. Mr MacMillan said he was "very disturbed" by allegations from former chairman Alistair Johnston that Lloyds Bank had threatened to cut Rangers' credit line if Craig Whyte's takeover of the club did not go ahead. He said this concern extended to Mr Johnston's assertion that Sir David Murray sold the club to Mr Whyte against his advice. Mr MacMillan said: "I don't know Alistair Johnston but he came over to me as a very honest guy. "These things have to be answered and Sir David Murray should come out and make a statement." The programme, Rangers: The Inside Story, was shown on Thursday night. A spokesman for Mr Whyte said he "strenuously refutes" the "unfounded and defamatory allegations" aired in the programme and had instructed his lawyers to "commence immediate legal proceedings against the BBC". A spokesman for BBC Scotland said the corporation stood by the investigation "which was produced according to our rigorous editorial standards on fairness, accuracy and impartiality".
  2. All this shit makes me feel sick in the pit of my stomach. In many ways I would like it all resolved asap too, but the only way it will be "resolved" by Christmas is if we lose
  3. Spot on. The conditioning has been evident all week.
  4. Greig Will Always Be Welcome CRAIG WHYTE has insisted that he had no inkling about John Greig resigning from the Rangers board and insisted he would always be welcome at Ibrox. Rangers legend Greig, who captained the side to the Cup Winners' Cup and two Trebles, announced he was leaving on Monday along with former chairman John McClelland. Chairman Whyte was surprised by both resignations and has made it clear that Greig will always be welcome at Ibrox. He said: "Stories that I wanted rid of John Greig are just nonsense. We always got on well together and I spoke to him very recently. He did not express any problems or mention anything untoward to me. His resignation took me by absolute surprise. "He is and always has been a great Rangers man and nothing will ever take away what he has achieved for this club. He has always been a terrific figurehead for us and it is disappointing to see him go at this time." Whyte told the Express: "I very much hope he stays in touch with us and comes to games. He is the greatest ever Ranger and will always be welcome at Ibrox. "I also spoke with John McClelland at the weekend and again there was no indication that he was planning to resign. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised about anything in football anymore but the timing of all this is odd." I think John Greig has been badly advised by someone here... probably McClelland. I hope some kind of truce will see Greigy back where he belongs.
  5. My team would be: McGregor Whittaker Goian Bocanegra Wallace Naismith Davis McKay Wylde Jelavic Lafferty
  6. As I've said before would love to see him alongside :davis: in the midfield.
  7. He played for the Socceroos, and looked good, last Wednesday (versus Oman). Hopefully he will get a run out tonight and manage to force his way into the team shortly.
  8. This game is a recipe for disaster. Half the country will be off that day, and the next day, and just about everybody at the game will have been drinking for hours. The town will not be a good place to be that night especially is we pump the tarriers again! Absolutely crazy decision to schedule that game.
  9. Just playing devil's advocate here, but how can you suspend someone for 5 months without giving them a hearing? Something not right IMO with the Bain/McIntyre suspensions.
  10. Loved that man. Hopefully Nikica goes on to have the same sort of long term impact.
  11. I would rather he stayed.... that way all our financial worries can be solved, while still winning league titles
  12. Have we got any idea of how the mhanky mob got to hear about this guy
  13. Eventually a European Super League will happen... we just need to make sure we are invited to the party. The fact the CL is starting to lose popularity a bit, and FIFA/UEFA are out of favour, might get the Real Madrids and Barcelonas of this world to act sooner rather than later.
  14. Hullo hullo We are the billy boys Hullo hullo You'll know us by our noise Big Jock Knew you're paedophiles and fiddled with your boys For we are the brigton derry boys.
  15. As much as this is an absolute disgrace, we should probably take the 2 games now (Killie and Hiba at home) and make sure we have Naisy available for Hearts away. Fucking joke though
  16. :jelavic: followed by Can't see :lafferty: staying fit all season otherwise he would be close.
  17. This could deserve a thread of its own... Shit players who have had £7m (or more) bid for them. Have to start with the obvious one... Tore Andre Flo
  18. Brilliant stuff... you must be smiling even more than me the day (if that's possible?!). Enjoy!
  19. A win on Sunday takes us 4 clear, our next 4 league fixtures are then: Pars (a) Killie (h) Hibs (h) St Mirren (h) In the same time frame the bheggars have: ICT (h) Hearts (a) Killie (a) I could see us easily being 10 ahead of them by the end of these fixtures (although we will have played a game more)
  20. We will need numbers in the middle of the park, as they will have numbers in there, but that doesn't have to be negative depending on how you line up. I would play a fluid 4-5-1 which becomes a 3-4-3 when we attack. Defending: McGregor Whittaker Goian Bocanegra Wallace Naismith Davis Edu McKay Lafferty Jelavic Attacking: McGregor Whittaker Goian Bocanegra Davis Edu McKay Wallace Naismith Jelavic Lafferty
  21. Brothers and sisters, my fellow bears It has been a tough couple of weeks for us all. The club we love has had its reputation sullied on several occasions and we have all been left a bit bruised, tender and bemused as a result of it. As much as the establishment, mhedia and the rest of Scotland want to see us fail we must fight for the club we all love! Starting Sunday we must fightback in the best way possible to let everyone know we are Rangers, we will not be broken and, unlike the great unwashed paedos across the city, we will not accept 2nd place as success! Ally will have the team fired up for Sunday and we must get behind him and the team and roar them onto a rousing victory! Let's put all of the negative talk behind us now and to a man and a woman get behind the bears! WATP
