im not really sure how we should take this news tbh
on the one hand, we badly needed a new face in the managers role, someone who will not have any ties to the current players (hopefully mccall doesnt) and will therefore make the hard choices that ally and kenny couldnt/didnt do
however, he is probably not the long term option, now in a normal sense this wouldnt matter, 3 months to help us out, a nice big thank you at the end before being replaced
This isnt a normal situation though, we have near enough half of the first team squad out of contract in the summer, they need replaced by any means, so a new manager will need these 3 months to sound out the first team, decide who he'd like to keep on (no sniggering at the back there) and then start identifying targets to sign for next season
if mccall isnt here past june then the new gaffer will be coming in with all that work to be done in the space of less than a month, wether we go up or not next season we need to hit the ground running,a new manager needs more than a pre season to completely overhaul this squad
