So he came, he saw, he pushed the agenda of the Philthy and he left. With nothing but slurs to show for it.

It would depend on the form of the bid. If it's a CVA keeping the existing company, Ticketus aren't creditors so only HMRC need to agree on CVA. If the bid is sale of business into newco and liquidation of the old company, then Ticketus will be creditors and therefore the CVA will need to include them as well as HMRC. So, we need to see how the preferred bidder has structured their bid.

If it's liquidation (without CVA being agreed, i.e. not a sale of the business, but winding up because CVA failed) then it doesn't matter who gets paid, because at that point the unthinkable has happened and Rangers cease to exist. Wednesday is only suggesting the preferred bidder, nothing is binding at that point. Until a CVA is proposed (20 April) and agreed with HMRC/Ticketus we'll be no further forward. I've no idea who I want owning the club now. I get the feeling TBK will just carry on as before which is no good as we need to change how we operate. I'm wary of foreign owners, no matter how much they protest they supported us as a boy. Americans are hard nosed bottom line driven investors, not suited to owning British football clubs. Brian Kennedy strangely enough was probably the best of the bunch. Understands British football, understands the club (even if he isn't a bear) but more importantly, understands business and would inject some fresh approaches.

It was clearly visible in the replay online (couldn't get to the game), if you consider what McCulloch got red carded for, this was much much worse.

Newsnow Rangers, Alex Thomson on investigating Rangers.
iconicman replied to pcbear's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
This has nothing to do with Philthy or McGlone, these muppets don't have the clout to get Alex involved. This comes from more serious heavyweights, lets see, perhaps Mr Reid or Mr Desmond or some other? Philthy and McGlone are just joyriding and Alex is wanking them off because they are on script. -

Ogilvie has no need to step down from the SFA on any decision of the tax case. He did not create it, he did not manage it. His employer offered to make him a member of it, following legal and tax advice that it was legal. He operated in good faith and has stood aside while investigations go on. If he is forced to stand down, it would be a travesty. -
Legends money wasn't all to us. Season ticket money isn't counted as that is already in the bank, it was a cash account, so only tickets over and above season counts.

It was stated by TBK that Ticketus was 'writing' off £17m of the money owed to them and we'd repay £10m but looking at the administrators report this seems a little bit of financial trickery as it includes the profit they intended to make and not the cash they'd paid out. From 5.6 and 5.12 of the report, Ticketus gave us £25.3m cash, and they expected to get back £34.7m i.e. £9.4m profit. However, remember they only gave us £25.3m cash. Now from 5.9 in the report we have already repaid Ticketus £8m, so in cash terms they are owed £25.3 less £8m = £17.3m. If we agree to repay them £10m over a period of time then they are only out of pocket by £7.3m. I'm sure any bidder that is not TBK will be looking to agree a similar deal.

US & Singaporean Bidders: Who Are They?
iconicman replied to DarcheVinny's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Anonymity will last until preferred bidder is chosen, after that expect a blizzard of PR. Noone wants the hassle of a PR campaign if it is not going anywhere, and PR is expensive, both in time and money. Ticketus isn't a stumbling block at the moment, if TBK lose out, the preferred bidder's first action will be to sit down with Ticketus/HMRC and negotiate a position. We'll know more after preferred bidder. -
Duff and Phelps have earned £1.1M out of this
iconicman replied to rangersxfc's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
We don't pay them, the creditors do and if they get us through a CVA they are worth every penny. -
Craig Whyte wants TBK to win, FACT! Well ok it's not, but Ticketus is the smelly link between the two which kills their bid for me.

Hate to see the wee man go. Would have loved to see him and Naismith in the same team for us. Yet he deserves to get as good a salary as he can. He made sacrifices to join us, he made sacrifices to stay with us. If he leaves, then I'll thank him for his time here and wish him well. Be gutted though.

And still some say the BBC have no agenda...
iconicman replied to AlCapone's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The Belfast and Renfrewshire MPs should be contacted and asked whether someone as insensitive as Joe O'Rourke should be holding a position as prominent in the Celtic Supporters Association. They should also be asked whether our national broadcaster is giving sufficient weight and coverage to such high profile religious bigotry. Anyone know who the MPs are? -
And still some say the BBC have no agenda...
iconicman replied to AlCapone's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Nonsense, utter nonsense. Those who control the media control the people. If you don't believe this, then you should consider why Politicians spend so much time trying to spin stories for the media, why we have very expensive PR companies for important peopl and why George Orwell wrote a book all about it. We do not need to become like the rabid dogs of the east end, but we should ensure the line is well marked in the sand and instances like these should be highlighted and questioned. -
What scares me more is that people are not against liquidation. We are Rangers, we do not walk away and hold ourselves to a higher code. We must come to an agreement with our creditors and continue on as we were. Not liquidate and run away into some new corporate shell.

BK may Bid after he hears Administrators Preferred Bid ?
iconicman replied to Dl2068's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The deadline is just a method of the administrators to get the bids on the table and get the process moving to complete the administration process. Bids can be made at any time and the administrators will judge them on their strengths against the preferred bid and proof of funding right up until the last minute. -
More powers to get Whyte if we become a newCo
iconicman replied to BlueThunder's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
The 'business' is separate from the 'company'. They are not one and the same is what the administrators and Club9 were trying to point out. There are 3 solutions to our current predicament. 1) Agree a CVA with creditors accepting XX pence in the pound. Our football club continues within the current corporate shell that is Rangers Football Club plc 2) Agree a CVA with creditors accepting XX pence in the pound that sells the club as a going concern into a new company (pre-pack administration). The old corporate shell 'Rangers Football Club plc' retains all the toxic liabilities and is eventually liquidated (after Whyte/former Directors are investigated). As the club is sold as a going concern, we retain all our history and identity (this is what Leeds Utd did). 3) Fail to agree a CVA and the company 'Rangers Football Club plc' is broken up and sold off to raise as much cash as possible to repay the creditors. The club ceases to exist, although someone can create a newco and pick up bits and pieces of the club. Think Airdrie with Clydebank. 1 is best, 2 is what the other bidders are talking about and 3 is doomsday. -

Fhilth. -
The English clubs are different in that they have football creditors ranked higher than HMRC and therefore they usually get outvoted and end up with next to nothing. We don't have that rule in Scotland, apples and oranges. Doesn't matter though, I though HMRC had already been told to do a deal?
-
Yes it is, it basically puts us back to where we were, but have got rid of the tax case hanging over us. Amazing eh? Not at all the plan from the start when Craig Whyte offered to take the problem off SDM's hands... Stitch up, but if it keeps the club history intact and allows us to carry on, so be it.
-
I think it's just a formality that will be rejected, but we can live in hope. As I understand it (no expert!) the rules are guidelines as to what you need to provide to be given a licence, it is up to each individual body to decide if the club should be granted it. Knowing the SFA though, they'll happily shaft us.
-
He's got them to write off £17m, wasn't that the debt to Lloyds? Didn't Whyte agree to repay the debt to Lloyds. Is Ticketus really Whyte? Blinder, absolute blinder.
