    I engineered fuck all.

I gave him 48 hours to have a wee think because he had spent all day making 300-odd posts making everything about himself. He’s come back and immediately started his shite again and got himself banned for it.

Contrary to what people might think, we don’t secretly conspire to get folk banned. Generally it’s a last resort.

You literally tagged him sarcastically asking for an apology for some throw away prediction you made, he said "no need to be smart!" With a fucking smiley face emoji and you flew into a fit threatening him with banning.

You went well over the top and started an argument with him over nothing resulting in him getting banned for daring to respond.

I'm not into conspiracy much, so I don't think it's some form of forum collusion by the admin, I just think you have been massively unfair on this occasion and handled it pretty poorly.

His timeout the other day was justified, but I think you have made a rip roaring cunt of this.

It's not my forum, so ultimately you guys can do as you see fit, but I think you have got this one wrong.

Flinging yourself in front of an oncoming train here…

Blah blah, honestly though mate that's a poor show.

Guy was annoying, but he didn't do anything tonight to warrant that.

No doubt plenty of folk will be happy, but it's never nice to see a long term poster just binned like that, especially when you pretty much engineered his banning.

Hindsight is wonderful but we really should have just spent that money on Shankland

You would have to have put up with me saying "told you so!" Which would probably have swung it back to being not worth it.

  4. Not really many options at the moment to be fair.

Fully expect Danilo and Roofe to be ahead of him when fit.

Dessers is clearly just one of those signings who is not going to cut the mustard. He is all wrong for Scottish Football, don't ask me what football he is suited to though, as I have no fucking idea.

Personally, I think folk get far too hung up on ‘style’. The most important thing for any Rangers manager is winning. It wasn’t THAT long ago we had Messi (and quite a few others) whine that we played anti-football. I doubt we made a conscious decision to play anything other than the style of football that was most likely to get us the result on any given day.

Do you think if we played lovely football but dropped points every third game that we’d be happy because we’re playing the ‘right’ style of football or would we be demanding results improved?

I think it's changed days since then.

I think the way you get most points in Scotland is by attacking allot.

If I thought we could appoint someone like Dyche and it would result in winning the league, I would be all over it.

I think the game has moved on though and I don't think that style of manager will get more points in Scotland than someone more attacking.

Modern football with its intense press and even the discipline shown by the likes of Ross County etc is hard to combat by just patiently trying to wait for an opening.

Relentless direct attack seems to be the way to go. In my opinion anyway.

    Might be wrong.

He won the Aus league in 2015 and the J league last year. It’s hardly different success after success.

I don't think we are going to get someone who is proven at a high level with great success who isn't considered washed up.

I think I would rather take a bit of a gamble on a manger who is currently successful and has a good style, than one who is washed up or who does not have a style that suits.

‘Supposedly’ is kinda the point. I’d be surprised if many of those shouting for Muscat have seen a single game played by any of his teams.

I've not seen a single game of his either, or just about any other manager we have been linked with.

I hear his style is like fat Ange's though, I hear he has won things in Aus and Japan.

If I was told that Gatusso had his team set up to attack, with a high press etc and won things with this style, I'd be all for it too. I have not heard these things though.

I don't like the sound of the manager from Greece (think he is an argie) who talks a load of pish like Pedro.

Don't know about any of the others, but if they play a fast, aggressive, attacking style I'd be up for it. It's nothing to do with the fact they used to work for fat Ange, that particular point is a negative for me.

It’s certainly not based on his managerial career so far.

It's not based on the fact he worked with fat Ange.

It's is however somewhat based on the fact he supposedly plays with a similar style, one which has been effective in this league.

If it was another manager with the same attributes but had not worked with him, it would be even more appealing.

But do you not think there’s got to be an allowance that we aren’t a Milan or a Napoli and we don’t play in a league that is as competitive or strong?

It’s a bit of a basic equation but if he’s capable of managing them to within a point of CL qualification then surely if you put him in a far less competitive league like ours (granted it would be with less talented players too) you would think he would be able to manage us to a degree of success?

FWIW, I don’t know if he’s a good manager either way, I don’t follow enough football now to know, I just think people are maybe a bit too quick to outright dismiss him as a potential candidate when his CV stands up pretty well against the majority of people who have been spoken about as candidates for our job over the past five or six years.

I think you have to look at how a manager sets up and his style to see if it will translate.

Just managing some big clubs, and almost finishing in the Euro spot isn't enough of a barometer to say he is right for us and the wacky SPFL set up.

Muscat for instance is known to play a style very much like fat Ange. That's a style which the SPFL seemed to struggle to play against.

Meanwhile you have GVB who won a title in a decent league, but his style was very negative and did not translate well to SPFL.

I'm not sure what style Gatusso has to be honest, but on achievements alone I don't think he has done enough to warrant it. I don't think he would have got the gigs he did if it were not off the back of his playing career.

Maybe Gatusso would be better than Muscat, I don't think any of us know for sure. I think I would be happier with Muscat as the option to go for though as his style sounds more like what we should be aiming for, and he has built his career based on his managerial achievements more than a star name, and seems to be on the up.

wtf is going on with you today, even by your standards you're coming away with some absolutely wild things. Of course one of the most famous strikers of the EPL era didn't kidnap and torture someone for days ffs.

Just a bit of light hearted fun mate, of course I didn't really think it was true.

Someone on here before said he held them tied up in his basement for days, just found the whole suggestion absurd.

I'm guessing he just kicked the shit out of them before the police came.

  11. 2 minutes ago, The Dude said:

I didn’t word it poorly. His career will go backwards. He might go from Pish Club A to Pish Club B but he’ll always wonder what might have been had he screwed the nut while here.

Nah you did word it terribly.

You didn't say what you intended to, it's fine though, I corrected it for you.

It's fine though, it's free of charge this time.

Even back then, selling Adam for circa 500k was terrible from us.

I think we released Fleck as well, or did he sign a bosman. The way we used to undervalue talent we had was criminal.

That being said, i feel that Lowry's future with us is on a bit of a knife edge and a lot of it will depend on how the rest of his season goes with Hearts.

    Fleck left at admin.

    Refused the TUPE I'm sure.

  13. What's the deal with the story about folk breaking into his house and him kidnapping them and torturing them for days? 😂😂😂

I take it that's been embellished a bit with some artistic use of language?

No way can you get away with that surely?

  14. 1 minute ago, The Dude said:

He may well have a decent career but I expect he’ll be one of the many who go on and regret how his time here went. At 20, Adam and Fleck were miles ahead of where Lowry is now. Kal Naismith has been at giants like Accrington, Plymouth, Wigan and Luton after us. That’s very much a step backwards.

Yea, you just worded it poorly.

It reads like you mean his career would just take progressively downwards steps.

Kai Naismith's career for instance didn't just go downwards after he left us.

He took a step down and then his career took several steps up to being quite a decent and well respected pro.

He didn't get back up to our level, but moving from Accrington to getting to established Championship level is a step up.

  15. 1 minute ago, The Dude said:

Once he leaves us, he’ll only go down the way

Nah, he has all the hallmarks of one of these players who leaves us, then builds a decent career for himself.

Bit of a Charlie Adam or John Fleck or even Kai Naismith.

I doubt he will play for a club as big as us again, but will take a few steps down and then his career will go up again.
