If they had tried to take any titles or cups Rangers would have raised a law court action against the SPL & SFA. So, I'm thinking that there were 'behind the scenes' discussions to exclude this as a punishment as they knew if it ever went to Law the 'Parcel of Rogues' & their commission would have been humped. Thus leaving Rangers the option to sue for Reparations for the injustices put on them. But, if they say Rangers were a wee bit guilty because of admin errors but did not cheat they could wallop the old regime with a fine which justifies them keeping oor prize monies from last season. Rangers & the fans would be so relieved that we would jump at the decision to get it all over & done with........
