As with everything to do with our finances the accounts should reveal all, this is just a meeting to dispell fan anger and worry so they are going to be vague but positive, the accounts are the meat on the bones of this meeting (pun not intended)

As I said, companies, particularly listed companies, cannot release financial information without it being checked to be whole, accurate and a fair representation of the facts on date xx.
When the accounts come out - they will be released to the Stock Exchange first, then publicly. Any announcements or declarations in public as to current, unchecked, unverified numbers would be frowned on severely by the SE.

It is not out of date information - no company in the world is going to tell anyone any figure lifted from a bank statement on that day. It is highly confidential, not always 100% accurate, and means very little.
The ONLY numbers which are supposedly accurate are accounts - a snapshot at a particular date, but prepared in full, and eventually audited.

Reformation Bear got a reaction from Edmiston Drive in Walter Smith - Non-Executive Chairman Confirmed by LSE
A shambles. One part of the official website announcing Walter Smith as Chairman and another announcing him as Non-Exec Chairman. So which is it then? Even basic factual announcements are beyond the capabilities of this Board.
What credentials does Walter Smith have if it is to be Chairman? Has Rangers given up on the principle of appointing people with the right skills, expertise, competence and experience so that the right people are appointed to the right jobs? Or (doed it go without saying as so many people at Ibrox are prone to saying) are we back to a jobs for the boys syndrome? As an investor as well as Supporter this is a move that is very far from satisfactory from my point of view. I simply do not see Walter Smith as having the commercial and business acumen to lead Rangers and to propel the Club forward. Right now I find it extremely hard to believe that the Board knows what it is doing and is simply now looking for a quiet life resigned to the backwaters of Scottish football.
One of the official site announcements also refers to Mather as Chief Executive....."Chief Executive Craig Magther said....". Has his position as CEO also been confirmed? If it hasn't then he is still an interim CEO. The combination of a Chairman (or is it non-exec Chairman) who I very much doubt would know one end of a balance sheet from another and thus is ill prepared to deal effectively in financial / commercial discussions, paired with what still to my eyes looks like nothing more than an apprentice CEO has the appearance of being an ill-equiped senior leadership team for a club of Rangers stature. Had that pairing been running an IPO I sincerely doubt if they would have generated the amount raised. I now fear their combined lack of credible experience at these levels will lead to the money being squandered and that it introduces a risk of poor financial and commercial stewardship at Ibrox.
And so we enter the era of .................'it goes without saying'.

Reformation Bear got a reaction from dalton in Charles Green stepping down as CEO- Confirmed by AIM
I've only just heard that CG is leaving, Bad news in my opinion. Very bad news. When Rangers needed decisive and effective leadership to pull our Club away from the brink of oblivion he provided it. When our Club needed to be defended or when it was necessary to promote its interests CG provided it. When our Club needed effective dynamic communications between those who run our Club and Supporters CG provided it. When it was necessary to deal firmly with the media CG did it. When there was a need to generate very substantial funds to get our Club back to good financial health and to set in place arrangements to manage our Club's finances on a sensible and 'live within means' basis CG led the way, forced the pace and delivered. When it came to leading from the front to push ahead with commercial ventures to generate wealth for our Club CG provided the driving force. When there was a need to say it as it was, warts and all, imperfections and all, CG was not afraid to speak his mind.
There is no-one, absolutely no-one I can think of at CEO calibre level who would have had the executive experience, intellect, nous, drive, determination, and firepower to have achieved so much for our Club in such a short time and in such desperate times. I can still think of no-one, absolutely no-one who would be anywhere near in the same league as Charles Green to lead our Club going forward. The Board can advertise all they like, and can offer a salary and share package better than the package Charles was on, but if anyone can put forward a name that would take the CEO baton from Charles and operate at anywhere remotely near his level of performance then I will be utterly amazed. That's another way of saying I now think that any progress at pace on the pitch and off the pitch has taken a severe dent. CL football for our Club now seems to me to be far away without the quality of leadership that CG provided. Just how our Club will expect to sell massive amounts of season tickets for next season against this backcloth and against the sorts of performances on the pitch that have been seen recently will be a challenge and a half for a Board that is largely anonymous and which, imo, has no leadership people of anywhere near the calibre of CG. I'd love to be proved wrong on this.
If a Board ever needed to step up to the mark then this is time. Behaving as though this is routine business with anodine statements and lack of visible leadership will be a strong indicator to me that those Directors whose heads are held well below the parapet and are not out there with boots on the ground visibly standing up for our Club and promoting the interests of our Club and defending the interests of Rangers effectively and with authority in front of the media can start to pack their bags now in my opinion.
I'm old enough to remember some dark times at our Club. Last year was very bad and I took a lot of encouragement from what I believed was a top quality executive team at our Club. Right now, and maybe its just the initial reaction, I do wonder if those times are about to be repeated. I hope not and much will now depend on who Rangers appoints as a replacement CEO.
Who's next to go I wonder. Is Jim T still with our Club? Have any other Directors gone or about to go? Any non-exec Directors gone or about to go? Maybe the mole who is leaking stuff will have more to say. Time that mole was identified and asked to resign.

In the end it always comes down to counting the days, then the hours then the minutes .........then the time.......12 o'clock tomorrow it seems from media reports. And then we know. We'll we'll know that Nimmo says but I suspect we will not know what sanction the SPL will apply. That'll be for another day no doubt. But when we know tomorrow - if Nimmo does announce tomorrow - then the time draws nearer when we get the cash ready to fight this right to the very end of every legal avenue we need to. And then find some more cash to plough into Rangers so that when we move through the leagues land among those in the SPL who started this Rangers has the cash to aquire / keep the players we need to put these clubs in their place at our feet and to do it with all the ruthlessness a football team can muster. That is my hope.

I know we've played Elgin a lot this season and the recent away win was good. I'm looking for Rangers to take the game with pace, power and with scoring boots on early and sustain a good quality performance on what should be a great day for football by usual January weather standards. No 'familiarity' attitude or slow start or slack defensive stuff. 3 points required. Lets get the job done well and give another big crowd at Ibrox a good display of football now that a host of players are back to fitness. On the Rangers website Ross Perry talked about being relentless in looking for wins. I agree but I'd add ruthlessness to this - start to improve the number and quality of goal scoring chances and conversion into goals. If Fran plays then I hope he gets a goal or two to get his goal scoring confidence into gear. Here's to a good Rangers win.

I,m a 53 year old man and have stood in the old Copland Road end and the East Enclosure over the years and been involved in some magnificent atmospheres at many a Rangers game home and away.I would just like to say that thanks to the young bears of the BO and UB that we actually have an atmosphere inside Ibrox these days so keep it up lads as you often remind me of my youth going along to games with the mates and singing our hearts out for the Rangers. WIN, LOSE OR DRAW that the Glasgow Rangers Story.

Disappointing but its a victory and I'll take all the positives I can from that. One of which is it puts us one positive step further forward on the journey. The need to see better performances and more decisive wins will not be lost on Ally or the squad. The fine print of finding ourselves in Div 3 with a new team being built is that it is going to take some time to get the level of gel needed to produce much better away performances. Every game and every step of the journey back to the very top is, IMO, going to require the best and biggest support we can give home and away even when the team are not as commanding as we'd like.
There are no short-cuts back to the very top. It's a long enough march through the divisions and more cup-ties away from home against teams who will see a visit by Rangers as being their cup final. We knew that when we accepted Div 3 and then suffered the consequences of a huge chunk of the squad who chose to jump ship. Despite that massive loss of experienced talent we won today so well done and on to the next game and see if we can win by a better margin and with better play.

I agree - it appears that our players can't keep the ball
Which begs the question why did our management team bring them in? Or why have we not seen a slow but steady improvement with the great facilities and coaching?
A few years ago I went on a coaching course with the navy down in England and the boy taking it took NO shit. Big massive fucker with arms bigger than my thighs and he was pretty well respected at the FA. Anyway, he told us about training techniques, and incorporating that into a training sessions. It was really basic stuff but it's still relevent and important. During the course of the session, he noticed two or three of the boys COULDN'T pass the ball, couldn't keep possession, and literally struggled with 5 yard passing and moving skills.
He took them aside and VOLLEYED abuse at them. Christ these boys got it tight!
The main point he made was "I'm a football coach and I'm here to tell you how to organise sessions and work on development, if you can't pass the ball you can fuck off"
And that has always stuck with me, we are genuinely strugging with BASIC passing an movement. And sometimes I wonder if Ally and Kenny etc think that these guys are professional footballers and shouldn't need to work on basics but rather fitness? A class is permanent type approach. Which does hold water. But it's evident we struggle in this department.

The away performances are nowhere near good enough. The squad is more than capable of winning each game away from home - and of playing with authority and style. Ally knows this and the players know this. This is the squad we will have for a long time now so is time to knuckle down and get much more determined about winning away games.
Now there may still be some players who are still trying to tune into how it works in Div 3 when every game is a cup tie for the opposition and they bust a gut for the full 90+ mins to show us what they can do. And good for them to give us a challenging game. So I'd like to see less Ally and the players talking before a game and less after as well and let the real talking be done on the pitch. By all means respect the opposition but not to the point where we don't play to the best of our ability and with the authority that should come from their skill and experience. The Bears are doing their job in supporting and its more than time for the team to settle into this and JFDI; and the manager too. This may be an adventure (as Charles and Ally sometimes call this) but its not a lark, nor is it a walk in the park. There is serious work to be done to play our way back to the top. Now lets get on with it.

Unfortunately this is the road we now have to travel. In the past most Rangers supporters would have ignored such disgraceful comments, but we've been getting shat upon from a great height in recent years and we've learned that "dignified silence" gets us nowhere (we learned that from the 'always offended'), thus, arsewipes like Thomson need to be brought to book for such utterances and we need to fight fire with fire.
This prick and others like him (Britney, Keevins, etc) are fair game as far as I'm concerned.
    They reap what they sow.
