  1. Faure is a good shout. I thought he did well at the start of the season as a CH before we were allowed to play all our signings.
  2. Mohsni and Jig have been getting away with it in the league this season because of its standard. When we had to step up a class , Raith and DU , they were found wanting. This is why guys like Gasparotto should have been given a run once the league was realistically won because it's far too dangerous to do it next season . Whether he's the answer , I don't know , but this was the time to see what he's got.
  3. Great to hear from the next Rangers captain.
  4. I'm really not sure on that one to be honest. I accept we can't flood a team and keep them there when they don't perform , but there could and should be cases where we know it's going to take time for them to get their confidence and we should stick with them . Like I said Aird looked like a wee boy when he came into the team last season but we stuck with him and he's a vastly different player now. I think the way Mohsni has been playing recently , and Jig's getting slower , we should have introduced Gasporratto and stuck with him , good or bad until , like Aird he'd settled. How's the time to break them in , not once were in the spfl.
  5. Agreed. I know people can get frustrated but they should vent that on those that should know better than a young 19 year old just starting to learn the game. He's improved greatly over the last 12 months since he's been given a run in the team .
  6. Of those you can really only say MacLeod and Aird have been regulars. I'm surprised that Crawford has had so any games because he's one I'd like to see more of , unless many of them include coming on in the 70th minute ! I think what's just as important is giving them a run of games ( Aird being a good example in my above post ) as opposed to a game here and there over a couple of seasons.
  7. It's a fair shout OP , but while I don't think it is in anyone's benefit to flood the team with youngsters , I agree with you we should have played more than we have. You make a good point with Mohsni , and from what I've heard Gasparratto ( spelling ? ) has trained with the Canada first team ( don't know if he's played ) and he , for one , must be wondering about his chances here. With such a prospect it would be a waste to lose him without giving him a real chance. Despite some giving him stick , Aird is a classic example of our youth coming through. I see a big difference in the confidence he has now , to get involved with the game , compared to the ' wee boy ' that first came in last season. In this financial climate , we need more of that.
  8. Went to a few reserve games when I was young back about 1970 ish and he was always the goalie.
  9. FFS . Time and a place and this isn't it.
  10. Went in on Friday and renewed them.
  11. Agreed . I think common courtesy is to be told privately first if they're not getting renewed.
  12. You really think Ally would have survived that ?
  13. That's half an hour of your life you'll never get back.
  14. Just a month previously we moved to Saudi Arabia and I got a radio for my 11th birthday ( got it a week early ) so we could tune in to the BBC World Service to find out the score. Remember getting up earlier for school to tune in and when it came to the sports section they , unbelievably , started with the Scotland game. They seemed to just go on and on before eventually . . . . ' and last night in Barcelona '
  15. A very interesting question actually . In the ' Dennis Setterington ' thread , JCD was saying the pre - season used to comprise of a 1st XI v Reserve side which gave the fans an opportunity to see the whole squad. I'd love to see this return , as it would give us an opportunity to see some of the youth that we hear so much about. I think their enthusiasm would make up for a good game and give the youngsters a boost playing in front of a big crowd. We talk of needing friendlies to help boost the coffers , and this would be one way of doing so without the expense of bringing a team to Ibrox. Who knows ? Further down the line when our finances are a bit more stable , we could even use it as a freebie to ST holders to thank them for their support .
  16. FFS . With the teams in our league and those we faced in the SC up till DU , it would have been embarrassing had we not attained that with the players we have. And that's not even mentioning Forfar and Raith Rovers !
  17. Pretty much my experience from those I know at Ibrox , friends and work colleagues . Don't think anyone wants to vocally say it , but pretty much all agree it's not working out.
  18. This. Exactly how I feel. Followed Rangers home and away all through the lean years from 1979 till Souness won the league in 87 . And as poor as we were then , this is the worst Rangers team I've seen - and we're in the lower divisions . So it's a no for me.
  19. Sorry to pick on you Rfc52 but your the first post ! I don't think the bare minimum has been achieved - honestly think we should have been more than capable of winning the Ramsdens Cup as well as Div1.
  20. Congratulations. You'll look forward to the day you can take him / her to Ibrox for the first time . I know I did , and now it's costing me a fortune !
  21. A bit before my time but , yep , I was told about that. Apparently some big names turned up for them .
  22. Good to see so many big figures from so many areas of Scottish football come to pay their respects. Just shows the esteem Sandy Jardine is held across the board.
