  1. I think without 55 happening the Europa Final wouldn't have happened. It was another huge forward step in the story of one of the biggest come backs in sport. I believe winning a European trophy will more than complete that journey and top anything I've ever seen or will ever be likely to see again. I cannot really remember another night like Thursday where I was sat utterly emotionally shredded and in tears at full time. WHAT. A. FUCKING. CLUB!!! Proud beyond words.
  2. Very best wishes to Andy. Thoughts are with you. What a goalie!
  3. When the shit hits the fan some players would rather be on the treatment table than on the pitch to avoid the criticism.
  4. I was one of them Ange was like a rabbit in the headlights in August. Our players must have thought we'd canter it and then couldn't get out of that mindset. Cannot believe we've thrown it away so timidly. Absolutely sickening.
  5. I hope I'm wrong but this really feels like shit or bust today.
  6. THIS! The longer the silence and utter inaction of those in power to do something about it, the more I think this is the main reason for not taking this further. Politicians should not be allowed to NOT to respond to questions about it, FFS!!! We all love our clubs but it should never come before the safety and protection of children. As much as 'their' support would seek to protect them it should still not get in the way of justice. This leaves me thinking they're other more self serving reasons for this not to be taken further. The skeletons in the closet of the club and those who seek to protect themselves is mind boggling. In any day and age sitting on your hands in silence should not be allowed and accountability sought but no one in a position to do so seems to be interested, why?? Once we get an honest answer to that question it will all become clear. Who the white knight will be who removes the scales from the eyes of the general public seems as unclear and as far away as it's ever been.
  7. Would have thought McCoist would have played but he's in Altrincham playing a National Lottery community game this weekend
  8. Mine just arrived today. A4 size, 100 pages, not bad but nowhere near worth the £12 sadly.
  9. There will only be one or two slips ups left in this league but I simply cannot predict who will make them, them or us. This still has the potential to turn out to be one of the very best league campaigns of our lives.
  10. You could well be right. I've never played professional football so struggle to understand what goes through the players minds when they don't turn up and start the game like we did today. Zero shots on target in the first half FFS. I'm going to be shredded until it's done, one way or another.
  11. Sadly I think we're now in the last chance saloon. Anything less than 3 points from each remaining league game will probably end our reign as champions. It's an entirely different pressure from last season. This is a massive test of character for the manager and the squad. Cut out these sloppy starts and just give 100% from now till May. We can do it! We're at the fight or flight stage and hopefully when the dust settles the trophy will still be in the cabinet but it's going to be nerve wracking
  12. Any word on tonight’s possible injury? We don’t want him out for long at this stage of the season.
  13. Not so fast Williamson.....
  14. From the Scottish Daily Express. Conveniently the government were unable to answer questions relating to the CSA scandal. Fuck me https://www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/scottish-news/celtic-boys-club-scottish-government-26376066?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar The Scottish Government admitted it has no record of discussions with police in relation to the abuse of children at Celtic Boys Club, the Scottish Daily Express can reveal. In a bombshell Freedom of Information request seen by this website, government officials were unable to answer a string of questions relating to the scandal, claiming it did not have a record of the information requested. Among the questions asked was if meetings or correspondence took place about a list of 14 potential paedophiles handed to Strathclyde Police in 1995. At the time of the FoI request, only two of those 14 named individuals had been convicted. The government was also asked if the Procurator Fiscal had been involved in any discussions and if inquiries would be launched into the police and PF's handling of the information. Crucially, the Scottish Government also did not answer if there were any plans to ask Police Scotland - the successor to Strathclyde Police following the 2013 merger - to reassess the information. The FoI also states the government has no record of meetings with the footballing authorities in relation to Celtic Boys Club. A selection of questions and answers from the FOI request, which was published in July 2019 Q - In 1995, a list of 14 active paedophiles was presented to Strathclyde Police. However, of those names only 2 were convicted: What discussions have taken place with Police Scotland regarding the 14 names that were handed to them? A - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Q - When will an inquiry be launched into the handling of the information presented to Strathclyde Police and will this inquiry be managed by a police force from elsewhere in the UK? Will an investigation also be launched into the Procurator Fiscals handling of the evidence? A - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Q - Will Police Scotland be ordered to reassess the evidence previously provided to them? A - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Q - Will Police Scotland be ordered to reassess the evidence previously provided to them? A - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. Q - What legal advice was sought in relation to the holding of an inquiry and when? What questions were asked to obtain the legal advice? Dates and times of the meetings and who was present? A - The Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. It comes after a judge this week gave the green light for a lawsuit to be launched by 22 victims of abuse against Celtic FC. Lord Arthurson confirmed on Tuesday that the legal criteria for allowing the action to proceed had been met paving the way for the survivors to pursue a multi-million pound sum in the Court of Session. In the FoI document, dated from July 2019, government officers dodge a series of questions, stating: "This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested." The request also shows the Scottish Government had no record of whether attempts had been made to provide the United States Department of Justice and State of New Jersey Attorney General with information regarding alleged abuse that was carried out on a trip to Kearney, New Jersey in 1991. The government did eventually provide an answer when asked if the refusal to hold an inquiry into the scandal helped with the protection of young people in Scotland. The request asked if the government was "happy to keep the nation in the dark" and "happy to allow the abused and their families to continue to suffer without having the answers they deserve?" An official wrote: "The Scottish Government unreservedly condemns the abhorrent crime of sexual abuse. "Experiences of sexual abuse in Scottish football will have a profound and long-lasting impact on those who were abused. Ensuring children can enjoy taking part in sport in a safe and secure environment – as well as giving parents confidence about the safety and wellbeing of their children – is a priority for the Scottish Government. "You may be aware that the Scottish FA announced the terms of reference for an independent review of non-recent sexual abuse allegations in Scottish football on 2 February 2017. The interim report was published on 26 July 2018, allowing the Scottish FA to address some of the recommendations before the final report is published when current ongoing legal cases are concluded. "The Scottish Government will consider next steps when the final report is published." This final report was eventually published in February last year, including harrowing accounts from 33 people stretching back to the 1970s. In the majority of cases, the review found no one in the game had concrete evidence of abuse at the time but it said there were varying levels of suspicion that could have been acted on. One survivor of abuse this week told the Scottish Daily Express those pursuing the case against Celtic were not interested in money. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: "Compensation is never something that the victims have ever discussed or considered either with the legal team or anyone else. "The important issue here is getting Celtic into a court of law which allows victims to face Celtic and exhibit the evidence that we have unearthed for the court to look at."
  15. 1:50 in I thought I was watching an old episode of Dr Who. Expected to see Tom Baker's head coming at me
  16. Fucking tremendous tonight! Back in the day we’d have a VHS of both games released before the month was out with a title like ‘Rangers: Sieg in Dortmund‘
  17. I truly don't think they give a fuck about this now. They're going all in to win the league. Pricks!
  18. Absolutely outstanding tonight! Only game I can think of that could better it was Leeds 1992.
