  1. To be fair, he's done it on a shoestring. Was never going to be able to compete with Aberdeen.
  2. What could their plan be in that case? Let him dig himself into a massive hole and hope he walks away? That's a bit of a gamble.
  3. I think another problem is we play with no intensity. With it without the ball. Our second goal came from Windass chasing down their midfield and pitting them under pressure. Teams always press us and it works because the players are shite and can't cope. But when we decide to do the same it works even better because the rest of the league are ever shitter. We just don't do it enough for me. It's amazing to see how little time our players have on the ball vs how much time the opposition have in possession.
  4. I think what you said last is spot on. Everyone's saying we need a goal scorer but I don't know if a goalscorer has a place in this team (not the kind we could afford anyway.) Kris Boyd is probably the ultimate goal scorer and I don't think for a second he would get anywhere near this team under Warburton.
  5. Yeah I agree. He's not the greatest player to be honest but when he's on the pitch he's usually the most dangerous and direct player we have, although most of the time his runs come to nothing, it's better than what the rest do which comes to nothing anyway.
  6. Something I don't understand is how we seemed to have found a system that worked vs Aberdeen, Hearts etc when we were more direct and when on the little winning run but yet we seem to have gone back to the old way that we played before. How can you find a successful way of playing and then change it back to a style that never worked before. I find it baffling.
  7. He's right though. 18 months ago we had failed to get promoted from the championship. Now we're 2nd in the premiership. And im guessing but I'm sure their view of the team isn't that much different from ours, but they can't exactly come out and say "the majority of the squad isn't good enough right now" can they?
  8. I'd go for a spine. Wilson, Kiernan, Halliday, Holt and Waghorn. Spend a few quid on those positions and we'll compete.
  9. I suppose it's a valid worry but there's no evidence he would waste it until he's given some real money to spend. The players he's brought in have been shit, I agree, but that's what you get with loans and free transfers. For me he needs some real money to spend to see what he's made of. It's a gamble but it would be a gamble with anyone else given we don't have much at the moment.
  10. A few million quid on a decent spine of a team would be a good start.
  11. If I was in Hodsons shoes I'd probably consider that a blessing.
  12. I'd love to see what Tav does in training to make him undropable. He's absolutely aimless in matches and is constantly out of position. Must be murder for Hodson sitting watching him get in the team ahead of him.
  13. To me that would show whether or not they can cut it in the first team. You don't want players that hide or play safe passes as soon as the going gets tough.
  14. I didn't think we actually created that many chances, especially in the second half. 2 or 3 half decent chances isn't enough over 90+ minutes.
  15. I'm all for playing nice football but when there's 94 minutes on the clock and your back 4 are passing it amongst themselves, then something isn't right. That's not good football. That's just stupidity. I'm certain Barcelona would be more direct under those circumstances.
  16. Europa League football would attract a higher standard player you'd imagine.
  17. Am I missing something or have all the teams not played 5 bar Celtic and Partick who are bottom on 3 pts?
  18. Dodoo as well. Think he was 250k too, can't remember.
  19. You're right about pretty much everything but the only way to get that experience is through playing for Rangers and experiencing results like this unfortunately. Now we'll see what the squad is made of. We can't go out and buy players from Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal etc who have experience of playing week in, week out where you're expected to win. People can spin it any way they want but the simple fact is; they played better than we did yesterday. Now you'd hope the squad will learn from that game and all the inevitable fall out this week (or probably until the next OF game) and never want to experience that again. Like I said, we'll see what they're made of.
  20. We've dropped 7 from 15 to be fair though. If we keep up that pace we'll have about 60(ish) points come the end of the season. Celtic finished on 86. I'm not in meltdown like most others seem to be, just a bit of perspective.
  21. Jesus mate, I know it's a sore one to take but I think you'd be better logging off for the night. You've gone into meltdown here.
  22. He never said he'd spend £30m in 1 window. He said it would take £30m to build a squad to win the league and compete at champions league level. That doesn't happen overnight unfortunately. How many quality players are going to want to come here right now when we have no champions league to offer and they can get double the wages in England? When we have European football to offer is the time to start spending.
