  1. If we don’t qualify for the next round on Thursday then we will not be any better off. Really happy they are out as that money just furthers the gap in terms of spending. Their wheels certainly do look like they are coming off but I will be really disappointed if we don’t go through on Thursday. I will start to get carried away once we have qualified for the group stages and beat them on 2nd Sep ?

I think he was getting played too deep last year, and he wasn't the same after the injury either. He deserves the chance to prove himself under Gerrard though.

    This 100%

  3. 100% good enough and I believe if he continues to improve he could be captain of our club in 2/3 years. Does he have room to improve 100% yes. I think with SG comments in the news last week he will be good for his development and I think the lad has a bright future at our club. Best potential youth product we have had in years.

  4. Granted he has hibden is most big matches and that his attitude at times is questionable.

But he still scored 18 goals or something for us last season and that can’t go unnoticed. Alrtgough goals came against lower ranked teams it’s still goals hat we needed to win matches and it’s goals that 2/3 years ago we could not even buy.

This player is only going to get better under SG. Do I think he is the standard that we need to compete NO..... but do I think there is a place for him in our team and that we have bigger problems that need sorted first YES.

  5. Good player could of done with him at the club 2/3 years ago. Certainly made a better player out of Tav and should be part of the team next year.

A journeyman that that looks like he has finally found a club that he wants to put some roots down for a few season.

I like him him as a player and only hope that he shows more in the big games this season.

Build a tall physical strong team that will bully the midfield and defence.  That’s the only way we’re going to combat Rodgers celtic anytime soon.

Nae doubts cunts will dismiss this because it was O’Neill that done it, but he was bang on the button when he first came into the tarriers during DA’s second season we ran riot most of the time against them.  Within a season he had turned John Barnes shite into treble winners.

I have said this a million times 100% agree with this. It’s men v boys at the moment.

looking at it now our recruitment has not been good enough.

We are totally fucked at the moment our club is a shambles from top to bottom.

    Wow.

Can't believe anyone is that naive to the scale of the job ahead but there you have it. All about opinions though.

There are two separate points going on here. I am certainly not naive about the size of the job ahead to get us back to where we belong. You look at that list of players and it’s scarey to think about the quality of player we have and the amount of dead wood the club is currently carrying.

My point relates to the fact that our past couple of managers have been unable to get the best out of our current crop. With a better man manager who could get the best out of our squad then I believe that this season we had a chance to catch them. It’s not to say that they would not of stepped it up a gear and took it to another level that we could not reach but based on the high standards they set last year with a better manager to believe it we could of challenged.

Only positive I have for this season is that we have managed to score goals and create chances where in the past couple of season in top league has been a struggle. Our defending at times has been well below the standards expected and that’s down to the recruitment and coaching with the various management teams we have suffered.

You believe that if the manager had identical ability our squad would win the league over theirs? Is that what you're saying?

If Murty was only 1 win away from closing the points to (I think within 3) if we have won the 3 - 2 match whilst still losing 7 home league matches then yeah if we had an manager with identical managing abilities to Rogers I believe we would of won the league and would currently sitting on 75 point or more.

Brendan Rodgers would not win the league with this squad if he was up against a manager of the same ability in charge of the scum squad. Never.

Based on Celtics total points this season I believe he would.

Totally agree that it is looking likely that a total rebuild Is needed but how many time are we going to need to do this? My understanding is that's why Mark Allen has been brought in as we are trying to build a culture where the club has  a stable structure and managers can come and go but the general foundations of the club will not change. I hope that with MA here now in place prior to a new manager coming in that we are able to close the gap next year and not simply rebuild and sack managers every 12 months.

Think that's too simplistic a view. Really don't think they've got out of second gear. The difference on any given day mightnt appear huge. The gulf in standard of player needed over a season is miles apart.

Brendan Rogers would of won the league with this Rangers squad this year (We need a manager that can get the best out of our players)
