If we don’t qualify for the next round on Thursday then we will not be any better off. Really happy they are out as that money just furthers the gap in terms of spending. Their wheels certainly do look like they are coming off but I will be really disappointed if we don’t go through on Thursday. I will start to get carried away once we have qualified for the group stages and beat them on 2nd Sep ?

I think he was getting played too deep last year, and he wasn't the same after the injury either. He deserves the chance to prove himself under Gerrard though.
This 100%

Ps Get Barisic signed
At 25 I would certainly be looking at him ?

100% good enough and I believe if he continues to improve he could be captain of our club in 2/3 years. Does he have room to improve 100% yes. I think with SG comments in the news last week he will be good for his development and I think the lad has a bright future at our club. Best potential youth product we have had in years.

Loved that game!!
Awww Nostalgia ........ is not what it used to be.

I remember hearing a rumor a few years ago that Chelsea was in for Gerrard and that the deal was almost pushed through but some Liverpool gangster had told him that he was going no where. Not sure if there was anything in the story but I do always remember him somehow being linked to some doggy characters.

For what I just watched I would say the following......
1) Aberdeen and Hibs games the referee could not get the cards out quick enough.
2) The Rangers shirt looks like its too big for some players characters
3) As a team we need to harden up and play smarter
4) In some of the games in the video we shat it and we proved that we did not have the bottle to compete regardless of poor refereeing decisions
I do agree at times that there has been decisions that look to be extremely hard on us I still feel that with Pedro and Murty that our whole squad lacked the characteristics that's required to play for Rangers. Some of these matches we (fans) knew that we were going to get beat before the ball was even kicked.
We have a team filled with players coming to the end of their careers, well traveled journeymen and a nucleus of lower league experience. There are not many actual winners in our team and that's the mentally that we are going to need if we are to compete next season. My gut tells me that (I hope) Stevie G will brings a much needed professionalism, winning mentally, high standards etc that is needed. I hope that we are looking for leaders and winners to bring into the team for next season although with all the latest transfer links I am getting a little worried lol. Good thing is that there seems to be a level of secrecy in our transfer business to date which leaves me hoping for a big man or two.
lets go!!

Gerrard will be going on goals scored probably. As others have said he can’t replace the full squad so maybe sees Windass as an important squad member moving forward.
Agree with this 100%

He scored against the beggars, Aberdeen and Hibs.
Even better then ?

Granted he has hibden is most big matches and that his attitude at times is questionable.
But he still scored 18 goals or something for us last season and that can’t go unnoticed. Alrtgough goals came against lower ranked teams it’s still goals hat we needed to win matches and it’s goals that 2/3 years ago we could not even buy.
This player is only going to get better under SG. Do I think he is the standard that we need to compete NO..... but do I think there is a place for him in our team and that we have bigger problems that need sorted first YES.

Don’t think anyone needs to doubt or question Ferguson’s loyalties.

I will keep that read for tomorrow’s morning jobbie

Good player could of done with him at the club 2/3 years ago. Certainly made a better player out of Tav and should be part of the team next year.
A journeyman that that looks like he has finally found a club that he wants to put some roots down for a few season.
I like him him as a player and only hope that he shows more in the big games this season.

Only Mexican wave I want to see is when Stevie G puts Pena and that other lump of wood on a plane back to Mexico

Was a little taken back by the appointment but watching that has given me a chubby and I am jumping on the band wagon. Amazing to see the support out in numbers highlighting to all what a fantastic club we are. It time to bring the standards back up in this amazing club and I am for one now happy that we have someone of Stevie Gs stature leading our team. It’s a results driven business but I am going to say that we have a winner leading by example and feel that if we get the players that he wants in then we will succeed ?
good of luck getting the dead wood to perform if you can do that we you will be a legend but failing that MA need to move on the rotten core and bring in winners

Build a tall physical strong team that will bully the midfield and defence. That’s the only way we’re going to combat Rodgers celtic anytime soon.
Nae doubts cunts will dismiss this because it was O’Neill that done it, but he was bang on the button when he first came into the tarriers during DA’s second season we ran riot most of the time against them. Within a season he had turned John Barnes shite into treble winners.
I have said this a million times 100% agree with this. It’s men v boys at the moment.
looking at it now our recruitment has not been good enough.
We are totally fucked at the moment our club is a shambles from top to bottom.

We should be looking at ways to legally sack the player

We have poor players they won at a canter yesterday didn't even get out of first gear when is realism going to set in.

Can't believe anyone is that naive to the scale of the job ahead but there you have it. All about opinions though.
There are two separate points going on here. I am certainly not naive about the size of the job ahead to get us back to where we belong. You look at that list of players and it’s scarey to think about the quality of player we have and the amount of dead wood the club is currently carrying.
My point relates to the fact that our past couple of managers have been unable to get the best out of our current crop. With a better man manager who could get the best out of our squad then I believe that this season we had a chance to catch them. It’s not to say that they would not of stepped it up a gear and took it to another level that we could not reach but based on the high standards they set last year with a better manager to believe it we could of challenged.
Only positive I have for this season is that we have managed to score goals and create chances where in the past couple of season in top league has been a struggle. Our defending at times has been well below the standards expected and that’s down to the recruitment and coaching with the various management teams we have suffered.

You believe that if the manager had identical ability our squad would win the league over theirs? Is that what you're saying?
If Murty was only 1 win away from closing the points to (I think within 3) if we have won the 3 - 2 match whilst still losing 7 home league matches then yeah if we had an manager with identical managing abilities to Rogers I believe we would of won the league and would currently sitting on 75 point or more.

Brendan Rodgers would not win the league with this squad if he was up against a manager of the same ability in charge of the scum squad. Never.
Based on Celtics total points this season I believe he would.
Totally agree that it is looking likely that a total rebuild Is needed but how many time are we going to need to do this? My understanding is that's why Mark Allen has been brought in as we are trying to build a culture where the club has a stable structure and managers can come and go but the general foundations of the club will not change. I hope that with MA here now in place prior to a new manager coming in that we are able to close the gap next year and not simply rebuild and sack managers every 12 months.

Think that's too simplistic a view. Really don't think they've got out of second gear. The difference on any given day mightnt appear huge. The gulf in standard of player needed over a season is miles apart.
Brendan Rogers would of won the league with this Rangers squad this year (We need a manager that can get the best out of our players)
And in Krakow...
