It's not a breath of fresh air, you know what would be a breath of fresh air? Us beating shitty diddy teams home and away and turning up and winning the bigger domestic games rather than shitting our pants again and again. Yes Europe has surpassed expectations but domestically it's no better. It seems some of our players have accepted being 2nd best, once our fans start accepting it too we are fucked.
2 season ago they went a full season unbeaten so I am happy that teams are actually taking points off them.
again another person that’s still living in the past and wants to turn up each week and steamroll our opponents. The fact of the matter is that we need to build again to get to that stage and SG has shown more growth in 6 months than last 6 years.
if we had not been in Europe this season I firmly believe we would be sitting top of the league ?

You are not challenging for the league after just 9 games and losing to newly promoted Livingston and a defeat and a draw against the worst Aberdeen team for years is not improvement.
What’s the plan then sack the manager and start again?
Massive improment has been made to the squad and to the club. Someone people will not be happy until we are back winning league each year fair enough ?

I honestly can not see Hearts, Kilmarnock or Livingston keeping up with the pace. Hibs I think will mount the best challenge out of the rest and it’s lookimg like Aberdeen are already struggling to keep up.
Must say that it’s a breath of fresh air seeing the league being the most competitive it’s been in years even at this early stage.
Cant see it being anyone but Rangers challenging for the league with celtic.

A lot of people are right to be expressing their disappointment with regards to not getting to the final of the league cup and for a stuttering start to the league but in my opinion there is no one better than Steven Gerrard to take us to 55. I have seen more improvement in the past 6 months than we have seen in the past 6 years. He has only been in full time management for a short period of time and within that 1 transfer window he has managed to assemble a respectable squad capable in qualifying us into the group stage of Europa league and currently has us challenging for the league (2 points behind celtic after 9 games).
Are we the finished article? Of course not SG has signed up for a 4 year plan which will give him the opportunity to completely refurbish the squad and firmly put his mark on his style of play. For now he is still learning his trade and evidently making some mistakes i.e late subs or Morelos playing in the Ary match, Lee Wallace sub against Motherwell etc but he is only going to grow as a manager overtime and I fully buy in to the fact that over the course of this season we are going to have a lot of highs and certainly some lows but lets not forget where we were last season or the previous 5 years before that. I honestly think that if anyone is doubting his ability as our manager then you need to remember where we have came from as a blind man can see the progress that we have made under his leadership.
The next transfer window (not likely January) will be the chance to start adding real quality to the squad as we certainly have the best core of players in recent years. For me this season can go either way and we may actually challenge celtic for the league or we might end up fighting it out for second place but with another few transfer windows under his belt I am confident that we are certainly on our way to winning 55. I am fully confident that SG is our best chance at stopping celtic from getting 10 in a row. For the first time since Walter we have a manager who understands what it is to be the Rangers manager. He does not come across as someone that will be content with 2nd place (McInnes Syndrome) and listening to his post match interview last night I think he is understanding that his squad is not good enough to maintain the high level of consistency that he is looking for or what is needed to successfully challenge on multiple fronts.

He was absolutely rank fucking rotten if people think that’s the standard of player needed then it’s a worry time.

WTF is this highlights??? Fucking worst highlights and commentary I have heard.
No thanks move along!!

In all honesty I did not think that Candeias was on top form last night. He certainly never played bad but I was thinking he was going to be subbed for Middleton around the 60th min.
I still believe that we are (non-winger related post) missing a mid fielder that dominates and dictates the play. Hopefully next season we go out and buy a real quality 5/7 million player.
wonder if there are any plans / options for Kent to actually sign for us as I think he has a lot to offer and certainly only going to get better.

A draw in the other match tonight has helped us greatly ??

Best player ever to play for the club.
well my opinion anyway ?

Finally we have a team that is capable of mounting a serious challenge I think its clear to the whole world that Rangers are on our way back. I say on our way back as we have still done nothing note worth with exception of achievement in the Europa league which on its own merit does show immediate progress.
Its far too early to be getting carried away as I know that we are only a defeat or draw away from this web site going into melt down as this player is not good enough bla bla bla.
Mr Gerrard has worked wonders in building this team back up to where we belong as he understands what it is to be part of this amazing club. He has raised the standards on and off the field and its clear to see that the harmony in the club is at an all time high.
This to me will be enough for us to mount a serious title challenge this season but I hope that we have the quality and depth in our total squad to fight on all 4 fronts. I feel that we now have a good standard of core players and that come January or next season we should start to buy some real quality as when that happens I will truly believe we are back to challenging year after year.

Must admit that’s a bad a miss as you will ever see but I hope it can be put down to nerves of making his debut.
He could of been on the back page of every Columbian news paper for scoring the winner.
Hope his head does not go down and that he cherishes his debut. Don’t think for a second that it will be his last cap. Raw talent and will only get better over the next 4/5 years.
Congratulations on making your debut wee man ????

What midfield , we don't have one, ejaria was fucked jack and arfield lost every 50/50 like wee boys up against men
I thought that Arfield was brilliant today when pressing and tackling their players.

I would still of liked to of seen Jason Cummings in the squad. Thought he had something to offer.
I don’t for 1 second doubt SG and MA hats off to them what a transfer window we have had. Total trust to them for the team they have assembled ?
for once I am actually looking forward to tomorrow game ??

Can’t wait for this one ? I hope the fact that the team are on a high we can use this to our advantage and forget about fact that our preparation for this one has not been ideal.
I totally see celtic there for the taking and they seem to be having a lot of issues with want away players. Defensively they are weak and it’s up to use to use this to our advantage.
If we can get the win on Sunday it will well and truely show that we are back and that times are chaninging.
cant wait for this one, Let’s go ??

Yeah this guys just get what is means to be part of our club. What a difference having a manager who just gets it. Showed a lot of class / respect by mentioning that the two players that were sent off contributed to our success but I think discussions will be kept for behind closed doors.
You cant fucking buy class some people just have it and Stevie G has it in abundance.
As someone mentioned in another thread tonight is a major milstone in our rise to the top but hats of to the board for getting someone with Stevie Gs stature into our club again as he is on his way to becoming a Rangers legend....... well will be if we win on Sunday ??

Could be the most important signing of the season ?

Fucking shite game Rangers fucking shite

celtic can’t defend set pieces and this could be a massive positive for our match on 2nd ?
-
Best game I have seen from him in a Rangers top and that is because the sat off and invited the pressure. Most league matches he will be a great asset I would go for a stronger defensive option in Russia next week if we have the option.
-
For me 1-0 is a good result would of loved 2 or 3 but let’s be honest I fancy use just like at Maribor to go over there and keep another clean sheet.
We are a completely different entity from past 6 years. We don’t look like getting beat and we don’t really look like a team that conceds loads of goals.
For me I would go all out in Russia and make sure we get into the group stages and if that make our team tired etc for the Sunday then so be it. This might get me some grief but European football for another 3/4 months would be my top priority for next week. This point highlights the issues with our squad quality we defo need another 3/4 quality signings still feel we need a better squad to cover the 2 games a week ?
-
Fuck any doubters, don’t live in the past it’s now!!! 55 let’s go!!!
Steven Gerrard - We`re on our way................ to 55

No squad in the past 6 years would of won 4 qualifying rounds and then went on to top the group at the half way stage of the Europa league group stage.
Not to mention the fact that we have just entered record books for most European matches unbeaten (club record)
No team would of only been 2 points behind celtic (even after a defeat to them) after almost a third of the season.
Pretty sure we lost out 26 years home record against Aberdeen with the managed you mentioned. SG is making Ibrox back into a fortress.
He has struggled away from Ibrox and I put that down to him learning how to go away from home and win which he has now done.
Is that enough improvement for you?
