I don't think they would. Sky can get more viewers for an old firm game if it's only on twice a year. i do agree that it would mean an initial loss in revenue for some teams but for a long term gain. But on the other hand the clubs who go from championship to playing Rangers, celtic and Aberdeen would be getting increas in turnover. That extra money improves their squads along with the simple fact that it's easier to attract players with the chance to play at ibrox etc than only playing the teams they are now. The way I see it the standard in Scotland is been in decline for years to the point where most of our top flight teams would struggle in league 1 in England. Something needs to change to fix that.

Not for fans of the clubs but for other markets it does. Theres not enough people in Scotland that are going to watch games to bring in big tv revenue. If we want to get back to competing with other leagues in Europe then we need to create a product that's more exciring and appeal a to a bigger world wide audience. The fewer times something happens the more special you can hype it up to be. More TV money helps every team on the league, nobody wants to watch Motherwell vs Dundee now but 25 years ago who would want to watch Bournemouth vs Swansea? But now every English Premier League game is shown live in places like China. We'll never get to that level but it's the right model

Yeah I can see some clubs not wanting to lose the 2 home fixtures against us but it's what I think would be best for Scottish football. A lot of the clubs currently are struggling finiancially anyway. There's more potential revenue from TV than there is from ticket sales. They would be lossing out to start with to benefit in the long term. If this split system was any good more leagues would use it, only other one I'm aware of is Northern Ireland

There would be more interest in those games if they weren't played as often. 4 games in a year waters down the hype you can build around a derby. Cut it down to two and with the right marketing and build up to games you can creae more interest in England, and possibly world wide and I think actually get a bigger viewership over two games than you do now over four when people outside of Scotland's for the most part couldn't care less because it's on so often

Less Old Firm games might not be good for you as a fan, but playing each other four times a season (plus any cups ties) dilutes interest everywhere else. That has an affect on the amount of TV money the league can draw in and that's part of the reason Scotland is falling behind other leagues. There needs to be a restructure to a at least a 16 team premier league. One home and away game each season makes the games feel more special and smaller teams playing against bigger teams than they have been draws in more crowds and more money for them. It should push the standard up for the whole of Scottish football, right now it's on its arse

Pedro was a bizarre appointment in the first place but in my opinion he has made us better than we were last season. It would be unrealistic to expect a quick fix, its probably going to take an other few years before we can realistically challenge them. The more they win, the more money they get and the easier it becomes for them to keep winning. Rangers need to make sure that they make some sort of impact in Europe from next season on, make sure they get to the group stages of the Europa League. That bolsters our transfer budget slightly, improves the quality of player we can attract and if we do it consistently hopefully improves Scotland's coefficient to the point were we can get into the champions league qualifiers by finishing second. That's when we could really start to think about competing with them financially. Until then matching them is almost impossible, we need to rebuild in stages and to do that we need a bit of stability. Changing managers doesn't do any good, give Pedro the chance to keep improving bit by bit.

McCrorie was the biggest (possibly only) positive to come out of today. Thrown in at the deep end and did brilliant. If he keeps it up he'll either be a star player in the future or earn us a good sum of money moving on somewhere in England

Definite room for improvement but it was that bad. Dominated the game bar the twenty minute spell where the scored two goals. Granted the second goal is shocking with everybody completely switching off but if you looked at this game on its own a draw away from home isn't a disaster, its the Hibs and Hearts games that have hurt us.

He can still do a job this season but should never be a first choice starter. I'd drop him from the squad completely for the Hearts game after his interview, make him realise if he wants to be in the team he needs to be willing to stand up for his team mates.

This game can't come quick enough, need to get back on track as soon as possible after Saturday. Hopefully, the players will be fired up and go out and bully Hearts and get a comfortable win but it'll probably be a nervy 2-1. Footage clearly shows Stokes with his hand round Jack's neck. Then when they come head to head Stokes makes a motion forward with his head that is just as if not more aggressive than anything that you can clearly see Jack doing. The red card won't be rescinded but the only fair outcome would be a retrospective red for Stokes. Have to see how that goes though, I have a feeling he'll still be available for Hibs next weekend

It was silly for him to get involved and give the referee a decision to make. Just as it was silly for Dorrans to start it all off with the push. We let them wind us up when it should have been the other way round. Stokes reacted to a tackle after five minutes, should have been sent off but once the referee showed the yellow we should have got stuck into Stokes again the next chance we got to get another reaction. They were shell shocked the first five/ten minutes but we didn't take advantage enough.

He might have a point about not getting involved in stupid things like that. Same goes for Dorrans, if he doesn't get up and shove the boy after the tackle then no one is sent off. Maybe the sort of thing a senior player like Miller should be pointing out in the dressing room but publicly he should stand up for his team mate.

I still think we should be able to control the game better against them, even with ten men. Miller in midfield didn't help. Rossiter or Krancjar or any actual midfielder in place of him, then we can slow the game down, keep possession, nullify them and allow us to create chances. We were just chasing them for most of the second half.

Surely we can't be happy with sitting in and damage limitation at home to Hibs? Obviously if we got a goal things would have been different, but we didn't and we didn't really look like scoring. You're right we've got better players and I don't think we need to be panicking about the season yet, we will get better. But for the first two games, opening 20 minutes aside, we haven't looked like the better team. Even before the red card the game was evening out yesterday. We've started brilliantly both games but we need to take our chances to put the game to bed. Then when the pace does settle down we need to show we've got the better players and dictate the play. So far we haven't done that. There has been some overreaction. We dont need to write the season off, I think we'll comfortably finish above Hibs and Aberdeen and push Celtic much closer than last year. But solely focussing on yesterday as one match, it was a bad result with or without a red card.

Be interesting to see how it's handled now. The rules are constantly getting softer and players are sent off for less and less. But if Jack is sent off, Stokes has to be as well. So one of two things should happen. Either the red is rescinded or Stokes is retrospectively banned after ref missed his involvement. That at least shows a bit of consistency. That's what would happen with other teams involved, just have to wait and see what happens here.

Had time to calm down but I'm still hurting from yesterday. Still think we were poor. We started brilliantly but you can't keep that pace going for 90 minutes. Both league games so far, when the game starts to settle down a bit we've failed to take control of the game and build on our good starts. It's all well and good putting teams on the back foot with early pressure but we need to be able to dictate the pace of the game and not let teams back into it after the frantic start. At the minute we're falling away 20 minutes into matches

Neither Alves or Cardoso played well today. Expected Bruno to be the sort of player to give team mates a kick up the arse when things weren't going well but there was none of that.

Not writing anything off yet. Think we're definitely an improved team on last year and I have no doubt that over the course of a full season we'll put Hibs and teams like them back in their place. But so far this season we haven't handled it well when we've come under pressure. We've started every game well and turned Dunfermline over because they offered absolutely nothing. But that's not going to happen in the league. There will be spells of games when the opposition put us under pressure. We should be able to deal with that and come out on top but we didn't do that today and we struggled against Motherwell. Decisions will go against us again as well but we need to react better.

We seem to only be getting seriously linked to midfielders at the minute when that's the last area of the squad we need to add players to. Think we need at least three signings before the end of the month. One full back, one centre back and one more option up front. Ideally get Foderingham out and a new goalie in too.

A new keeper should have been one of the priorities in the summer. If there's genuine interest in him and we can get a replacement sorted out before the window closes then I'm happy for him to go. The first goal today just rolled past him and while Tav looked like he had no clue what he was doing for the second I don't think Foderingham should have let it beat him. Only problem we have at the minute is that I don't think Alnwick is better. We should have recognised that Gilks was the better goalkeeper and used him as our number one rather than shipping him off

He looked very short of fitness, but I think if he gets his head down and works then he could turn out to be a good player for us. Didn't do much when he came on but he was alive to Herrera winning the ball to get us that free kick late on. If we want to get the best out of Herrera up front then he needs people playing off him like that. Looks like Pena has been a good player and lost his way a bit. Just remains to be seen if he has the right attitude to get back to his best.

In all honestly we need to sign a centre back and a full back what ever we decide to do tactically going forward. We look really short for when we get injuries/suspensions. Don't really rate Wilson at all as a back up unless he can kick on and learn from Bruno like he did with Davie Weir. And even though Wallace isn't the best we looked a lot worse for not having him in the team today

We need improvements somewhere in the defence. If we're going to stick with a 4-4-2 then we need at least one full back. Wallace is the best of a bad bunch but none of our current fullbacks are up to much defensively. Problem is not many full backs in the world are nowadays, they're used as attacking threats for the most part. It's why so many teams are using three centre backs. If theres really no better option than Tav and Wallace then we need to do the same. Bring in an additional centre back, change the formation and take the pressure off them two when it comes to defending.
