A lot of these players are definitely good enough at their best. Definitely. We need someone who can unlock a defence though and we are overly reliant on going wide and crossing. For our squad right now - (in the summer we need to replace outgoing loans). I think our core is good enough but we are missing 1/2 players who can truly unlock a team. Look at celtic right now - They have 7/8 match winners in their squad where as we have potentially 3 at most. Forrest, McGregor, Rogic, Eduoard, Burke, Weah, Sinclair have all won them matches this season. That for me is the only difference in points - they have players who have stepped up where as we have players who have not. All down to a winning mentality that until we bring in people who are challenging for titles regularly or have the right mentality we will struggle to get over the line.

Tactics etc are a lot of shite. Aberdeen had ten men behind the ball. The only way to beat that is with genuine quality in the final third. We dont have that. We are better against teams that attack us because we don’t have the quality to unlock a ‘good’ defensive team. Fair fucks to Aberdeen as well, we might be shite but they can defend and McKenna is the best centre half in the country by a mile.

When you see signs of progression elsewhere sometimes the goal posts do move. Europe, player progression, Youth progression, Comfortably in second and not tussling for third. celtic will win the league and us running them close up to new year was great and allowed us to think what if. But their squad is ahead of ours and they are better at grinding out undeserved wins. If we go out and beat celtic in the Scottish semi and win the Scottish cup, comfortably finish second and have had our European run then it’s a good season. Not a good season compared to previous Rangers teams who won leagues etc but a good season for where we are the now
