Orangeclement 619
Tottenham have confirmed the signings of Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker from Sheffield United. Everton were also in the running to sign Naughton but the defender has opted for the lure of White Hart Lane. Skysports.com revealed last week that Spurs were likely to win the race to sign the England Under-21 international and that has proved to be the case. Naughton broke into the Blades' side at the beginning of last season and never looked back, playing 40 league games in total. Meanwhile, Walker forced himself into Kevin Blackwell's side towards the end of last term after a spell on loan at League One side Northampton. It is believed that Spurs will loan the 19-year-old defender back to the Bramall Lane club while Naughton will be looking to push Vedran Corluka and Alan Hutton for a starting berth at right-back. source- Skysports.com

Scott-RFC 308
Bad decision from Naughton Never going to get a game, should have went to Everton
Muff 245
Kyle Naughton is just as comfortable on the left, as he is on the right. Kyle Walker can also play at CB, but RB is their preferred position. Don't know what this means for Alan Hutton?

papaguy51 941
was it not somewhere between 10-12m for the pair ? You'd hope not, unless your a Blades fan. If that's the case, they're probably pishing themselves laughing all the way to the bank.

papaguy51 941
That's an absolutely ridiculous fee! It's even more bizarre when neither are close to being as good as an in-form Hutton.

That's football for you these days. We have shite like Nottingham Forest, Colchester, and Scumthorpe out spending us these days. It's absolute bullshit. FlippinEck 3,853
Harry experimented with hutton on the right wing, could he start the season there? TBH, as much as it pains me to say, Villa would be a good move for hutton
Orangeclement 619
its a sad day for football, when two teens with hardly any first team football under their belts can move for this sort of crazy money
Muff 245
its a sad day for football, when two teens with hardly any first team football under their belts can move for this sort of crazy money Especially when you see some of the fees we let our players go for. That's what happens when you play in one of the worst leagues in the world.
Jimbo. 952
its a sad day for football, when two teens with hardly any first team football under their belts can move for this sort of crazy money It's happened many times in the past. Neil Kennedy, John Hartson, Theo Walcott etc.... There's money to spend down there and they'll spend it. Spurs transfer activity is mucho bizzaro right enough. sdunsmb 43
To be fair, I don't know if anyone has been watching Sheff U this year, but I follow them a bit cos my best mates a season ticket holder and they have both been exceptional in the championship this year. Considering they are 19 and 21, and probably being looked at as future "stars", £10m for the pair is pretty much to be expected. Seemes like £5-6m is the going rate to pluck youngsters who are performing well in the championship, e.g. Joe ledley, Roger Johnson..... Ross McCormack is also valued at the very least £5m.
