Cancelled as weather is awful with threat of thunder now.

Shame mate. There has been some thunder at mine just now.

I had a game at elmwood yesterday. Years since I’ve played it, nicely wee course but greens are slow in comparison to Lanarks

Elmwood looks a cracker. I was doing some work up there for a couple weeks and clubhouse and training academy.  They have some set up

Seen this on Twitter thoughts.....

Should juniors be allowed to play in adult competitions ?

Beith used to let single figure juniors play for handicap purposes. I think it is good for development. I would let them go for the club championship of they can qualify

100% mate. I was allowed to as a junior. At that time you couldn’t win silverware but could lift cash.

Now I would be encouraging kids to be allowed to compete. If they have a handicap then on you go.

It’s the lifeblood of clubs and the game.

Just finalised a deal for these beauties and for a steal into the bargain too.

4-PW, custom fitted shafts and custom fitted grips. Also including lie and loft fitting to tune them in. All for £699.

Sold my Ping irons for £500, so a pretty good deal for £200.

Bloody steal.

My pro put me in touch with another pro friend who is a mizuno specialist. Guy is from Just outside newcastle.

Between the two of them the fitting was done at Lanark, Skype call etc and all details sent over to him.

Couldn't believe the price he quoted. It even includes the postage 😂😂😂

At our course it’s 8 and under handicap you can play with the adults, honestly don’t know why all can’t play surely an 11 handicap junior is better than a 22 handicap adult.

You are spot on mate. The biggest challenge is fucking stuck up members who don’t see the future of the club, instead they see what they think is their club.

Yip when I was younger 16–17 I got pulled up for hitting off the yellow tees at my course whilst out playing a bounce game with my old man and the course was empty. Lucky if you can get 2 three balls out when our juniors have their medal time.

Anycunt know any good courses with a hotel nearby in Scotland?

I need to arrange the annual outing next year for about 30+ folk but no idea where to go. Went to Cardrona this year and Drumoig the year before.

What time of year?

Depends on budget mate but Dalmahoy is good option, 2 courses, range, hotel too.

Murrayshall is a nice and again 2 courses.

You could always go back to Drumoig and use that as a base with you playing courses round about, some great courses that aren’t far apart.

Usually mid September. Funnily enough the two you mentioned I looked at earlier and thought would be a great shout.

Maybe check out Murrayshall, no heard many people playing that.

One of the courses at murrayshall is longer. I’ve played it few times and in recent years they have always hosted the Scottish Schools Finals too.

Ask to speak directly with ban events manager etc. When you sell it to them of an event, rooms, food, drink, golf you can get some decent deals if you barter 👍

Good suggestion. I was there for a round and a meal last week. Beautiful place.
