Just to adress the balance beacuse we have the biggest waste of money thread.

In my time as a fan, I'd say Rod Wallance comes up pretty high.

Also

Boumsong = free

Prso = free

Cousin = 1.2 million

Boyd = 400 grand

Cuellar = 2.5 million

Bougherra = 2 million

Johansson (he was never a big favourite of mine, but we got him for a nominal fee or something, didn't we?)

Klos = 700 grand

Durie = 1.4 million

Ally McCoist wins this everytime for me. For me a bargain is when you get someone cheap and he becomes a wonderful player for years for you, or in McCoist's case an absolute legend and arguably our greatest ever centre forward.

I don't class people like Boumsong and that as true bargain because they won't go down as great Rangers players. Don't get me wrong 8m quid for a bosman is an astonishing piece of business but I prefer to look back and remember a player for what he achieved on the pitch for us.

Jim Baxter £17,500 10310.gif

Financially Boumsong £8 million profit in a matter of months. Give us 3 of them a season!

Novo's goals were priceless

Wasn't it Souness who bought him? Helping us out. We wouldn't have got anywhere near that from any other club(manager). If Boumsong is £8million then Bougherra is £15million. Proven International and alot more consistent than Boumsong.
