Colonel Mustard 380
It's been mooted that we might have a problem at centre forward if either Jelavic or Lafferty gets injured or suspended (if another striker isn't signed).I think that young Wylde might be able to step in there no problem at a pinch, to partner either of our 2 best strikers. As a precedent, we've seen Johansson go from winger with not much else but pace to decent striker, and it's entirely possible that Gregg could do the same if called on.I can see this working if we needed to do it. MisterC 12,377
He's too wee although he is pretty direct so could even work. However McCoist, like Smith before him is not one for playing players away from their usual position. Oh, and welcome to the site
Kasper 2
Ooft. Certainly a topic worthy of discussion! I honestly don't see how it would work other than Jelavic being used as a target-man for Wylde to run onto. Seems to waste the best striker at Rangers though... Clemdog 39,389
Weiss got played upfront on his own for 10 minutes of one game. But Wylde? Not for me.
RangersMedia 35,961
Dont think so, prefer Wylde on the left, gives us some balance on the left.
Colonel Mustard 380
Weiss got played upfront on his own for 10 minutes of one game. But Wylde? Not for me.Wee Bud had a million more tricks than the likes of Wylde (or Weiss), so I'm not using it as a direct comparison, but his pace meant he was a great strike partner when played at inside left.I know I'm digging into the annals of history with that one, but we have had precedents of speedsters being a good option as a second spearhead. watp72 54
Play him up front alongside Jela against the Tims. Worked well for Lovenkrands, playing through the middle against that mob.

Redwhiteandblue 3,330
would rather see whittaker up there. He cant defend, is two footed and can score goals. Fuck knows why he's a RB

Colonel Mustard 380
Can't see it to be honest. Why not? It's not like his brain cells will turn to mush because he can't see a wwhite line on his left side when he is running.

Good finish on Sunday but hasn't really shown it before then.
Rab_Rangers 38
No, he doesn't have a good enough shot on him to be played upfront.
caseyjones 3,009
Another alternative would be to keep him on the left to provide crosses for Jelavic's new strike partner. If not, play McGregor up there as he's the only cunt we don't suggest playing out of position.Oh aye, welcome to the board.

Broxi 11,585
Not for me, there's a reason why he only has 1 goal. I don't think he has ever hit the ball with his right foot and his finishing isn't great either
MikeBlue 136
If scoring one good goal is a reason to move someone to striker you could have made the same argument about Bert Konterman
