Waste 8
Calling a guy who said he wouldn't have the flag in the ground Adolf is being very easily offended. You're conflating someone thinking a foreign flag is inappropriate with the guy responsible for millions of deaths across Europe. Easily offended and hugely over-emotional. It makes you sound like a kid throwing a tantrum.Regardless of how they were established or when they gained independence the State of Israel is a fucking bully. Using their demonstrated reasoning it's fine to unilaterally kick your neighbour out of his house at gunpoint, then bulldoze it before building a block of flats for your mates to live in. When your neighbour tries to get out of his back garden where you forced him to live you decide he needs a permit to get to work and that if he complains he'll be branded a terrorist and have his tent bullzdozed. If he gets sick you blockade him and decide no one else can send him food or supplies. This history I seem to know nothing of, how about recent history? The history of Mossad agents using the passports of British nationals for their murky work?Sixty years ago the jews were the persecuted. Now they are the persecutors. Fuck you and fuck Israel; they can fly their flags at their own fucking grounds. You listen to too many socialists. It's really boring. Try looking at who and what israel are against at all angles. And while you are at it, do some research on the amount of times Israel have launched unsubstantiated attacks in their history. They would not exist if they didn't respond strongly
WVB 2,560
Not necessarily, since he's not Jewish. Its an Israeli flag, not a Jewish one. There are non-Jews in Israel you know. Not that I give a fuck you understand.
Rangers Rob 29
If i was in the position of Craig Whyte, i would order the banning of both Palestine and Israeli flags at Ibrox. It is a massive political cluster-fuck that has nothing to do with football being played in Scotland. The reason the scum fly Palestine flags is because they want to be as anti-British as possible, and the reason a select few Rangers fans will fly Israeli flags is because they want to be as anti-Celtic as possible and/or wind them up. My only real hang-up about our support, both Palestine and Israel are guilty parties.Ah, the old "I don't like it so nobody should be allowed to do it" routine. ara 154
... soon sorted that one out then lads eh...... sounds like we are at the foothills of starting our very own Israel - Palastine situation here...... deal me right out thanks... my old man was out there fighting with the 17-21st Lancers in Palestine and hated every second... surely we will have fans from both sides of that ever-lasting divide, so what's the point of finding a reason to now alienate any of them? BrizOz 1
Israel are allies with the nation we play in.Israel and the US are allies but are Israel and the UK, apart from doubtless cooperation v. non state terrorists?sorry to continue this thread but my computer was ill. BrizOz 1
It has nothing to do with israel. Maybe if some people actually knew about some our history, we wouldn't have 2 pages of people slagging each other. The Rangers star does not resemble the Israeli one with its formation from 2 triangles. Pity.
Thermopylae 15,287
Not sure why it doesn't resemble the Israeli one ... it's just formed by 2 solid equilateral triangles instead of hollow ones but it's hardly a big difference ... unless there is some significance to the difference I don't know about? Spliffy 643
Ah, the old "I don't like it so nobody should be allowed to do it" routine. Meh, just saying if i was in Craig Whyte's position it would be high on my list. It has absolutely nothing to do with us. The politics of Northern Ireland are much closer to home and did involve a great number of Rangers and shellik fans.
JograBear 1,074
WFT has Israel got to do with us. Get rid of that pish.
Spliffy 643
Bit of an assumption is it not? What's wrong with supporting the only democracy in the middle eastAbsolutely nothing wrong with it, but i doubt that is the reason we seen it. I can't imagine us doing it if Palestine was the only democracy in the Middle East. And when mates of mine on both sides won't touch separate Umbro and Nike clothes, i think it will be safe to say political leanings they don't understand will also come into it. *Manticore* 1,893
Can the people who have a hard-on for Israeli flags please enlighten me...???The thread's about an Israeli flag with a Rangers emblem in the middle. The question should be why do so many supposed bears have a problem with such a flag? montana100 335
I seen the new tops on sale in the Rangers shop before the Sheep game. When I seen it my first thoughts was the star on our first strip. But I think it has been lost by using the Israely flag. Good idea, bad choice IMO.N/S
dan_ger 1,454
It is an Israeli flag, it therefore it does not surprise me that most people interpret that to be showing support to Israel. If we want to celebrate our original club badge then get a giant flag made up that resembles the smaller banners that were in the corner with the light blue star fully coloured in. Thermopylae 15,287
Well if the original badge wasn't a star of David what was it? I have to say it is pretty similar ... are there any documents surviving from the time that would shed light on its origin?
