interesting stuff in that justice commitee report i posted ...loads of things you could pick out, for example

147. After due consideration, the Committee also accepts the argument that it

would be unhelpful for the legislation to identify and proscribe particular songs,

chants, banners etc. Leaving aside the possible drafting difficulties inherent in

such an approach, witnesses have stressed that, were such provisions written into

the Bill, some football supporters would see getting the better of the drafting as an

enjoyable challenge, and would quickly find new ways, not covered in the

legislation, of expressing the same sentiments.98 The Committee accepts that this

would risk making a mockery of the criminal law.

a much asked question

96. Others very strongly disagreed that Scottish football did not need to put its

house in order. Martin Riddell of the Association of Tartan Army clubs, which

follow the national team, had given evidence alongside the club supporters. He

told the Committee that he thought Scottish club football did have problems

relating to offensive behaviour that needed to be dealt with and that, because of

this, most Tartan Army members to have expressed a view supported the Bill and

If we sign songs about a historical war within which one set of people killed another set of people, be they diveded geographically or by religion we can get 5 years in prison.

This law is passed by the same government who appointed the flower of scotland as our unofficial national anthem, which references a historical war within which one set of people kill another set of people.

Although I, and probably everybody in the country, do not honestly take personal offense to it, it is the principle that counts. This is very premature signs of dictatorship, in that the rules do not apply to everybody, just who they want it to apply to. People in Scotland will no longer have the same civil rights as the rest of the world and we have nobody to blame but ourselves for continually voting for that fat wank.

When is the next election by the way?

So every song about a historic war is the same no matter what the content is ?
