Ally's Novo Hint

by Lindsay Herron

ALLY McCOIST dropped a hint today that it is not impossible for Nacho Novo to rejoin Rangers.

And the move might well be timely given the injury problem to Kyle Lafferty who is facing a month out with a hamstring problem from today's win over Motherwell.

Novo has been training with Rangers while Spanish football takes a winter break and has six months left on his contract with Sporting Gijon, the club he joined when he left Rangers in 2010.

Now the 32-year-old could be poised for a return to Light Blue.

Boss Ally McCoist said: "Nacho came in and trained with us and he is a great friend of everyone at this football club whether it is a supporter, player or manager. He is a breath of fresh air.

"He was back for Christmas and New Year and he asked if he could come in and do a bit of training. We did that and he looked lively.

"I am in no position to rule anyone out but equally at this moment I am in no position to rule anyone in.

"We will just have to wait and see but he was looking well."

Meanwhile Thomas Kind Bendiksen looks to be leaving Rangers for Tromso in his homeland of Norway.

The midfielder's contract expired at the end of the year and has opened talks with the Norwegian side after turning down a new deal at Murray Park.

McCoist said: "It looks as though Thomas will be leaving us and signing for Tromso."

Shoot me down but Novo for me would bring back a bit of fire in the team

He certainly will give 100% and maybe could have a shot upfront now

And he knows how to score against the scum and he fuckin loves it!!!!!!

I can picture it now..................

I don't know what he'd add to be honest. Hard work and endeavour I guess.

If we had a a decent budget then I'd be happy to bring him back as cover now Lafferty is out but considering we have very little money I'm not keen on spending it on Novo.
