derek1872 548
The co-effecient takes another battering...yep. By the time we are in a position to get back in Europe Scotland will be lucky to have 3 places with the winners having to play every round of qualifying Some people just dont get it. dazzareyes 220
yep. By the time we are in a position to get back in Europe Scotland will be lucky to have 3 places with the winners having to play every round of qualifying Some people just dont get it.There is the other scenario that when there is only 3 teams from this country in europe every single win or draw for those teams will massively improve the rating. When Scotland had 6 teams in Europe there was 6 teams diluting the points, by the time we get back into Europe it will probably just be us and them, so any wins we get will massively improve the coefficients.Scotland could never have 6 teams in Europe and maintain our rating, its just not possible. You get no points for a loss. You do for a win and draw. So the more teams the more chance of getting points. If we only have 2 or 3 teams then the chance of getting into the higher seeds is non existant. Hence my despair at wanting to see other scottish teams get pumped

The only way that could happen is if Scotland still has 2 spots for the Champions League and we finished 2nd in the League.More than likely Scotland will have one spot but we would go into the first champions round against the likes of the Champions of Ireland, Bosnia, Latvia etc. Then if you get through that you play the Champions of Switzerland, Isreal, Romania etc.

If we go further down the list we will be behind countries like Latvia and lithuina.

If we go further down the list we will be behind countries like Latvia and lithuina. The lowest you can get is San Marino, Andorra, Faroe Islands level. Scotland won't reach that level. Every other country starts at the next round. My linkhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_UEFA_Champions_LeagueBy the time we are back in the Champions League, Scotland will have a co-efficient somewhere between nation 16-47. Jelavic191 4,535
we could be unseeded and face the likes of Belguin, Crotian, Ukraining thoughTrue, but is that not mostly down to our own co-efficient rather than Scotlands? or is the Scotland co-efficient a factor in that as well?
