davekerrthebear 124
we backs to the wall almost the entire night as well i remember Juninho (not the washed up hack the scum had to fiddle taxes to pay "wages" to, the good one) hitting the woodwork at least twice or three times from set pieces alone! without Hemdani playing out of his skin that night i doubt it would have been a victory. i remember sitting in my room watching the draw texting my mate who we got in our group and thinking "that's that then. at least after xmas we can concentrate on the league after we get fucked 6 times". how wrong i was! davekerrthebear 124
to think at the time we were drawn against the reigning Bundeslega champions, the reigning Ligue 1 champions and one of the greastest squads ever to play the game and we were a baw hair away from reaching the last 16. some amazing memories from at season. Spliffy 643
One of the best without a doubt, will never forget watching it.
blue_bear12 5
What a night that was. I remember my gran and grandad being at my house the weeekend before the game, when he left he said, "well son, I hope we get a good result". I just smiled at him, wishing the best. But known how hard it would be. It was amazing. When beasly scored I didn't know what to do i was ecstatic. Cousin, Hemdadi and Hutton were different class that night
demise 3,581
A terrible night.I had £2 on 0-3 at 450/1Then I took it off thinking it was a waste of time.fucking idiot.Had 5 euro on Rangers that night and along with Barca vs Stuttgart and Arsenal vs Steaua(both away games too) managed to get 90 euro out of it. Decided to send half of that to my dad as i owed him and... few days later i went out of cash and he had to send them back to me

WATPRFC1872. 220
not full highlights but goalshttp://www.veoh.com/watch/v1260492aMcpzHSmNot seen these goals in years, cheers bro. All three goals are amazing but my personal favourite is Beasley's...shortly after he scores you hear the Lyon fans booing. Think that was the first time they were beating at home in europe for years?
Logan_RFC 57
Agreed. This was a fantastic result and will always be one of my favourites. I loved Cosuin's goal, awesome technique and power
Gaz52 11,837
I still think the goalkeeper is going to come out and take it off BeasleyI remember that 3rd goal going in and thinking to myself "What the fuck are we doing?!"
Davey_RFC 122
2 pages and no one's mentioned Hemdani's performance yet..One of the best individual performances I've ever seen from a Rangers player!
MosesMcNeil 1,664
How we kept a clean sheet I'll never know. Anderson hit the bar, Juninho hit the bar from a free kick, wave after wave of Lyon attacks.Teasing the cunts.Hitting the woodwork is a miss
SirAlistairofMcCoist 91
Incredible performance. Woke up the next day double checking it was real And as for the reverse fixture, why the FUCK did we have to wear our away strip at Ibrox? I blame that for the defeat

Lyon had to wear their away kit as well.
AlBear. 8,499
not full highlights but goalshttp://www.veoh.com/watch/v1260492aMcpzHSmThe greatest thing about this game. Is you can hardly say we had a team of superstars. This game showed how determination and belief can get you further than you think
*Manticore* 1,893
Come October it will be 5 years since that game. How time flys. There'll be a few 'five years ago' threads this season.2007-8 was a fkn brilliant, if ultimately disappointing season, in terms of trophies. *Manticore* 1,893
We won 3-0 but we hardly HUMPED them!! They were all over us for most of the game.. Great Victory none the less. That Beasly goal. technique was second to none.. WOW!!!So true, how many batterings did we get that season but somehow survive?
Ghengis Khan 4
even though it was on sky sports *winkIt was on Scotsport, introduced by Andy Walker with Billy Davies on the studio.Don't mind helping out fellow bears with this game
Senna 735
Cousin's performance that night was perfect. As good as any performance from a Rangers striker in Europe. The only other I can think close is Hateley's at Elland Road in '92.
AlBear. 8,499
Seems longer than 5 years ago! Although this summer felt like 5 years all on its own. Nights like that are our target. This is what we want to get back to.

WeirFleckNRothen 1,789
I don't think you can underestimate how big a result that was. I'm a big Ligue 1 fan and at that time, Lyon were unbelievable. I remember watching the game in my old house and I going mental, I just couldn't believe it. Not just that game, but that entire Champions' League group campaign was an amazing experience. That squad that Walter, 'Super' and their staff built was a fantastic one.
