Ian Hart interview

LIFELONG Rangers fan Ian Hart has put his complete faith in the recovery of the club under Charles Green just months after effectively being an opponent.

The property management specialist was part of the Blue Knights group that sought to purchase the club during the administration process.

He was a sceptic when Charles Green and his consortium took over but now, having joined the board as a non-executive director, he has completely embraced the new regime.

Hart told RangersTV: “I’m thrilled to be involved in a club of this size and reputation and I’m looking forward to the challenges.

“I have been involved in supporting Rangers for the last 50 years and I don’t think I have ever seen anything like what we have seen in the last 12 months and it has been hard going and nail-biting.

“But I’m glad that it’s over and that we are now moving forward.

“A lot of us had reservations about Charles when he came on the scene because of what we had been through in the previous year.

“But I spent time with him and I am convinced that he is the right man for this time in Rangers’ history.

“I like his passion and I trust him because I believe what he is saying is correct and you only have to look at the turn-out last Saturday. The fans are so passionate, it’s unbelievable the numbers that are turning out for this club.

“For their sake I would like to contribute what I can as a fan and from my experience in business and in life.

“I believe I can contribute something. I’ll fight for this club and I’ll fight for the fans because they are the most important.

“I’m enthusiastic about it and I’m keen that the club moves forward quickly.

“I was involved in youth development 10 years ago and I have a little insight into what’s involved at Murray Park.

“I think one of the reputations that Charles has is that he can get money and I do believe there is a good future financially.

“I am confident we will see even greater times than we have had in the last 40 years or so
