iain1712 336
I lifted this from the bill mcmurdo blog, I found it in the reply section to today's blog. Great read for younger bears especially as it puts some of the historical tarrier claims of being discriminated against firmly to bed and shows them up for the lies they are. The author signs himself as BB The record’s ludicrous stance on the alcohol issue really does let the cat out the bag how deep they are in lawwell’s pocket. If lawwell jumped in the clyde I’m sure wacko jacko would be right in after him. As the Proverb tells us-Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler and whoever staggers because of them is not wise! Of course alcohol in moderation can be fine, but the Scottish drinking culture doesn’t do moderation, and that’s the whole problem. Events involving Celtic’s finest at Firhill and Dundee prove the point. ‘Scottish’ football fans simply can’t be trusted. Rugby is a different culture so it’s not an ideal comparison. I’ve heard it said, rugby is a game played by thugs and watched by gentlemen, football is the reverse! Rugby also doesn’t have the ‘baggage’ our game has either, and there’s the irony. The man driving this ridiculous concept is the man largely responsible for permeating the toxic atmosphere currently poisoning our game. The last thing the game needs is alcohol being added to the volatile mix. If only lawwell and his club hadn’t abused it’s power through it’s cynical exploitation of Rangers’ weakness, much to the detriment of the game, then the stench might not be so pungent. Celtic’s unparalleled influence with the ruling bodies, the never ending witch hunts, the corrosive title stripping enquiries, a very lengthy list in fact but no need to go into it all again, has made the Scottish footballing environment Powderkeg Central, particularly around the old firm. As Archie MacPherson said during the Hampden Riot, they hate each other, and they itch to get at each other, well sadly, that seems as true today as it was then, probably more so. And these nutcases want to add alcohol to this potion of hate. Celtic’s influence has been, and is, a problem. I reckon Kenny Sheils is only highlighting the irony in lennon’s bleatings.Maybe we should just forget about Celtic’s friends in law, the media, local and national government, as well as the footballing authorities and indeed the clubs themselves. Neil Lennon has certainly forgot, as his laughable claim last week suggests. ‘Celtic were right to be paranoid’. Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water….the dorsal shaped fin of cacharadon carcharias paranoius has been spotted coming back up the clyde!Paranoid. Oh really Mr Lennon. Why would this be? No doubt he’ll refer to ref Dougie McDonald for telling porkies over why he changed his mind (rightly) over a penalty. Subsequently, the guy was hounded out the game as honesty is paramount, but not where your boss’s mucker Regan is concerned eh Neil- Such was the pressure this club applied to referees that it led to a strike. No wonder Rangers pen against Celtic in a cup final at Hampden was reversed, as Walter Smith said at the time, if that happened at the other end there would’ve been a riot! Also hounded out the game was Jim Farry. A man who was no friend of either half of the old firm as he regarded both as bullies, but nonetheless yet another character cited as evidence of institutional bigotry by Celtic fans due to the Jorge Cadete episode. Except the truth is, Farry did delay his registration, but only out of a misinterpretation of the rules, and a stubbornness not to back down. Even Fergus McCann said when pressed on the issue by Roddy Forsyth, he did not believe it was anything to do with bias against Celtic, but why let the truth get in the way of a century old myth eh Neil! This wasn’t the first time Farry didn’t check the rulebook. Like when Souness was punished by tv evidence at a time the when SFA COULDN’T use it. But it was Rangers, so that’s all right then. While we’re at it, another couple of instances which blow the sfa/rangers thing out the water. Duncan Ferguson-12 match ban. Outrageous. Willie Woodburn-last british player to receive a lifetime ban. Appalling. But Celtic are right to be paranoid.More nonsensical evidence is no doubt the Paul McBride saga when he drove a coach and horses through the SFA rule book regarding Lenny’s touchline ban. So they didn’t know their own rules. Big deal. God forbid they ever illegally impose a transfer embargo on Celtic, now that WOULD be a case of bias would it not? Oh wait, they’ve already done that, yes, with Rangers! It eventually comes to a point, where the kidding has to stop. Abraham Lincoln once said, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time. We are at that point. When it gets to conspiracy theories and boycotts over player of the year awards, we really are scraping the bottom of the persecution barrel. The fact Celtic players have won this award 7 out the last 8, or something like that (who really cares), or the fact when Rangers won the treble the award still went elsewhere is neither here nor there. Celtic are right to be paranoid.Yeah Mr Lennon, your case is overwhelming. No wonder you hate touchline bans, it can’t be easy trying to get up to the stand carrying a chip the size of a volkswagon on your shoulder. baxfanalex 113
So when the " perpetually persecuted " don't get a POTY award and their coach is passed over for Manager of the year I suspect the SPL will revert to its well covered mantle of " meltdown " as frequently used by the Rhebel, Suhn, Hherald and sundry other dross publications. Liewell will maintain an air of disparaging aloofness as the starting point for a 3 week sulky wait. Iris will present herself as a suspect of a detached retina and some wee student neill's been helping through college ,will arrive at A&E having fallen mysteriously from the 16th step of the bungalow, paid for from an anonymous bank account. John Reid will continue to deny any involvement as he waits for the allegations of sexual harrassment to come from Westminster and it's all going to be swept away because it detracts from wee Eck's aghenda of fooling the masses.
