Roman Abramovich ripped apart on skysports news.

If you dig feel enough you can find shit on any body, especially businessmen.

I bet Kroenke & Usmanov aren't angels either and that's coming from somebody who quite likes Arsenal.

You don't become a billionaire like these guys without having little things in your past that raise eyebrows.

Some folk are just bitter because they have won the lot tbh.

English football and much of European football is full of people like RA.

Its not a question of anyone being bitter is it. Why should football supporters not look out for the well being of the game itself? Is it sustainable in the long term? I find dodgy practises eventually catch up with you.

I must have missed your thread on him.

Usmanov has no power at Arsenal. He can't bankroll Arsenal when it comes to signing players or wages. Why do you think he wants in and there is a huge battle going on for control over the club?

Its like comparing a bike with two wheels to one with no wheels. Incomparable.

It's been going on ever since TV money came into the game.

Every single big club out there has benefited from this kind of thing and it's just the way it is these days.

Yeah we would all rather every club got an equal chance and the 'sugar' daddies who bankroll clubs all over the world were gone but it's not going to happen.

Chelsea and RA are not even the tip of the iceberg, you might want to start with Barcelona and Real Madrid who have been at it for decades.

You will also find wages were inflated a long time before RA came to England too..but that was also Chelseas fault...Oh wait..

We know there is a lot of people in football who are dodgy. The point was Skysports trying to celebrate Abramovich without the full context which the journalist got in thankfully.

Truth be known, Arsenal could very well be controlled by Usmanov in the not so distant future, so anyone having a pop at Arsenal are off the mark with that. If anything, Usmanov would spend double what Abramovich has done.

Sky Sports are looking at his contribution to Chelsea and english football, not anything else.

The usual Arsenal shite at the start of this thread. Surprise.

Have all the Sugar Daddies you want Arsenal have done things the right way and when they win something it will be even better for the diehard fans and and for people like me it will be a good arguing point on here that they have won something and they have done it the right way :P

Having a rich guy buy the club and plough billions in will always lead to success. Arsenal have built the club from nothing basically to one of the richest clubs in the world with a massive fanbase, stadium, facilities and good squad all with their own money.

Infact there was an article the other day about how in 1973 they had £1,730 cash in the bank and in 2013 it was £150,000,000 in the bank. What Arsenal have done recently has been nothing short of a miracle and im glad their doing it this way. Shove yer oligarch owners up yer arse :) Unless you want to buy Rangers :)

Football's about winning, not having a nice balance sheet.

No doubt about it. Arsenal haven't done that recently due to them having to build the club gradually with their own resources. But now Arsenal are coming past that point and will be able to compete with other clubs on their own merit and it will be from their own money. They will win something again and it will be all the sweeter for Arsenal fans

All the talks of plans and what teams might do mean hee haw when the same happens every single season.

Chelsea have grew as a club and a brand at an incredible rate thanks to Roman and his people. They have left Arsenal behind clutching at the dust so far.
