You serious

Try the International tournaments for starters and big CL games in the past where he has been very, very average.

You have to remember... He plays for Sweden. It IS a team game and players like him can only do so much for their team.. Zlatan isnt as inconcistent as people claim he is.. People bringing up games that were played 5 years (?) ago proves this.

Yeah but he didn't really turn up either leg.

It was a tactical failure on Guardiola's part more than anything. He didn't "turn up" in the first leg because Barcelona basically bypassed the middle of the park to get the ball to him. Inter had a very solid defence and, rather than try to cut it up with fast-paced tiki-taka, Barcelona either played direct, unusually long passes to Ibrahimovic with his back to goal or else lobbed it up to his head. Meanwhile, because of Ibra, Messi had no space to work in.

In the second leg he was stuck in the middle of a 9 man defence. Better players than him (including Messi) have struggled under such conditions.

General consensus seemed to be Inter got the better of that deal, a lot of money plus Eto.

That's really neither here nor there. It has nothing do with whether or not he played well. No player in the world is worth more than £40 million + peak Eto'o.

Sweden have failed to to qualify for a few and he's still scored against teams like France and Italy. And when they did qualify, his goals were vital.

It's a complete English media myth because he apparently didn't do it against their teams.

I mean, he scored the winner in a Clasico.

Five goals in Milan derbies too.

It's funny how the "never does it against English clubs" attitude was renewed before the four-goal game though, despite him scoring twice against Arsenal the last time he played an English club.

Why is it that a Europe-based player is judged on his performances v English clubs? The mind boggles.

Same was said about Messi for years.
