whytes3 254
It is a chant that we have heard up and down the country from opposition support.Looking at our current plight though there is more than a note of truth about it.We are a very faint shadow of the team we used to be on the park. Speaking to a few older bears yesterday about the "bad old" days they said that the difference was that whilst the players were shite back then, at least they got stuck in to their opponents and took a roasting from the manager/coaching staff on the sidelines. Now we just have shite players who wear the jersey but show no sign whatsoever of any of the pride and passion that their predecessors had.Off the pitch things aren't any better and, whilst we haven't always been the most wealthy of clubs (goig gback a good while) but our directors and future directors (not to mention fan groups, etc) at least conducted ourselves with dignity. We presently have a board without a plan (although that may hopefully change) and former directors and fans group determined to wash every last piece of dirty linen in public. We are a rudderless ship in so many ways at the moment and sorely lack the presence of any single figure to turn to that truly upholds the pride and tradition that this great club stands for.Post-administration/liquidation was always goignt o be a rebuildign process but over 2 years on form admin and we actually seem to be going backwards rather than forwards.Support for your club is about goign throgh the thick and thin - this is about as hin as things get just now (I hope)
simplythebest 11,453
Certainly feels that way albeit not in the way that chant is intended

Dutchy 1,200
Comical chant in a way that they claim we're not Rangers anymore, but they don't half get excited when they beat us, as though we were 'still' Rangers. We know why that'll be then, eh!
one55 1,510
Of course we are still Rangers. There's no doubt about it. We're still called Rangers, we still play at Ibrox Stadium and we still play in red white and blue. The rest of Scotland still hate us. We know it and they know it too.We just aren't playing anywhere near as good and what do you expect after admin/dropped to 3rd division/players walking out/financial difficulties/shite management team???We will return to winning the SPFL Premiership and getting into europe. There is still a long way to go but we will make it.No Surrender.

There is still a long way to go but we will make it.No Surrender. It's not a case of disputing that we are still the same club and the replies above make this point well that whilst the chant is sung, any team who has beaten us celebrate it as a giant killing exercise. When you say we're not playing as good, that is just one issue as to where the heart and soul of the club seems to have gone. yes we lost players, but the way we are attampting to "rebuild" is farcical with jourrneymen mercanaries who have neither the talent nor the passion to be playing for the club. Instead of bringing in and developing new talent we buy guys on the downslope of a poor career

surfsup2 1,540
We will always be Rangers and it proves it when everybody is out to kick us ..and everybody forgets that more than half the players we have wud never have been allowed to wear our jersey.Look at yesterday in Edinburgh we turned out to support our team and the players let us down again they looked as if they did not care less no hunger no fight it's just so frustrating to watch. We need strong leadership from the top ASAP or we will just be plodding on again next season. And as much as I Love Ally that bunch out there yesterday were an embarrassment it was a cup final !!!
