6-0 in the third. Thiem was obviously the much better player but that was pathetic from Djokovic.

Chucked the last set, McEnroe was spot on about him not wanting to be out there anymore.

Great win for Thiem though could potentially go on and win it.

So glad about Thiem. I only seen the first few games. Djo cannot handle windy conditions. Guys will recall Nishikori put him out in a Slam on a windy day too. Flat hitters can suffer. Thiem........What a topspin hitter. That Justine backhand to go with awesome forehand. That has got to do his confidence good, knowing he has beaten Nadal weeks ago, and now beats his bogey man Djo.  Hotting up!

These conversations that Andy is having or throwing towards his box? It's like some strange drunk waffling away in a world of his own?

He comes out 2 points later and plays a great point but he must be better without that? Wee Nishikori isn't going away here is he?  The wee man has had the better of a few of the big guns in Slams. Roger and Rafa excepted maybe.

Nadal moving up to number 2 after this. He's defending nothing going into Wimbledon as well. Could easily be number 1 again before the end of the season.

Yes and I think it is great to see him back. Enjoyed the Womens here with some fantastic matches. Halep is dynamic!

Ostapenco was brill. Lost her concentration a wee bit at times due to her metal and shot choice. Other than that, the winners were all hit by her and Bacsinsky was hanging on defending and getting errors. Bacsinsky's lovely backhand was overshadowed in terms of hitting power and accuracy on both wings from the young Latvian.  Any of the four women could have won this French Open, which I think is good. Ostapenco has this in her hands, if she can keep her nerve.

Womens game is brilliant! The hitting stats and speed show it.

According to Navratilova, nobody is allowed an opinion if it doesnt agree with hers.

"Incidentally, if you wish to see a beautiful example of authoritarian bigotry and arrogance, check out Navratilova’s Twitter feed. Anyone who disagrees with her about anything is barred. Even those who suggest she should stick to commenting about tennis. People who say that to her are automatically barred, she states, full of self-righteousness and with the implacable confidence only liberals have that they alone are correct about everything. And cannot bear to be gainsaid".

Halep through to meet the young gun Ostapenco. Halep was out gunned mostly against flat hitting Plisikova. It was the errors from the big power house and Haleps superior court coverage that won the day............along with some big points authority.  Clear favourite now but will be interesting to see how their games match up here in the final.

Halep coming back in the QFs from a set and 5-1 down suggests it's her trophy this year.

This is it, nobody has been able to put her away. All the big hitters have tried and this young Ostapenco is a hitter too.

If the young girl is calm and confident, we could get another good match. If she gets overwhelmed then she may beat herself with the errors. She has the tennis but not the experience and match play of Halep. It might be interesting or just too much for her. I do hope that Bartoli is not commentating. She spoiled that match with babbling through the rallies with some of the most uninteresting tech talk I have heard. Her timing was awful! Somebody pull her aside FFS!

In for a nail biting afternoon with Andy here. That key 7th game in first set was hard for him with some errors. Murrays second serve, still the weakest of the top four and Stan is setting up his points from it.  If Stan's forehand is on, he can dominate. The backhand as we know is top drawer anyway.
