i agree, hence why people are then worried why mcculloch is getting sharpness in the midfield role, why would ally play him there all pre season not to play him there in the competitive games

why sign hutton again if we now have jig, black, macleod, peralta for the sitting mid role

i agree, but we need to be good at plan A first, arguably we arent given we have just put 4 new players into the team

I can't see Jig being a permanent fixture in the starting line up this season, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I can't forsee any of our new players - Miller and Boyd especially - having any trouble fitting into plan A.

Just watched the highlights. Couple of things.

How the fuck did Boyd miss those chances?

Their goal, why the fuck do we not have someone on the 18 yard line marking this clown who just gets a free shot at our goal?

i agree about jig, hence my disapproval that he is getting valuable game time in centre mid in pre season, that time should be used for someone that is actively going to play there this season

as for miller and boyd fitting into plan A, it depends on what plan A is, and to be honest i dont think ally knows what his plan A is, hence again my disapproval

if we were an absolutely belting team at say 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, the fair enough you can experiment with other systems, but i dont think we are comfortable in any system yet, and imo thats where we should focus first

It's hardly valuable game time. It will almost certainly be Law and Black in centre mid and they've just had an entire season to forge a partnership - whether you agree they did or not is immaterial as it is unlikely that a few pre-season games are going to change that.

I'm not even going to respond to the last point.

I was at the game and thought overall the team did well. Still lacking match fitness, but that's what these games are all about. Miller seems very fit, Boydy still has a wee bit to go. By the time we face Hives and the jam farts the team will be stronger. I'll think we'll have a much better season this year.
