Leigh94 10
Given the dire straits that our finances are in currently I was thinking along the lines of how would the fans feel getting together and organising some kind of fundraiser for the club. I know the club does a lot of events through the Rangers Charity Foundation which rightly helps many people in need. At this present time though the football club itself is in need and without being patronising about it, I'm sure whatever sum of money raised could go to good use in terms of the everyday running of the club and ensuring we have enough capital to at least help us in the short term. Not entirely sure what kind of event would actually take place but I thought it would be a good idea to use the services of as many former Rangers players as possible (9IAR and past) to maybe speak at the event? As long as they do not charge, which I hope some wouldn't given the nature of the event then hopefully some of them could speak. There could also be raffles, auction, a quiz as well as some music from any Rangers supporting band(s) out there. What do you think?CheersLeigh
True Azure 1,414
Would have to be organised and run without any of the usual suspects, ie, Dingwall,Houston, Fury et al and any monies raised would have to be effectively ring fenced and secured using Lawyers/Accountants to ensure NO monies are diverted from the original cause. There are far too many logistical obstacles to be overcome to make such an event viable.
Leigh94 10
The ring fencing of the funds was my concern too. I suppose if it became more hassle than it was worth then it wouldn't be worth it. Something to think about though.

Leigh94 10
No it was a genuine idea but as stated above there would be a lot of obstacles in the way.

BlueboyG 5,270
Sorry mate but i gave the club £400 earlier in the year and i am not going to give any more money so that some of the players can keep taking thousands out of my club without actually earning it. NamibianBear 1,851
We tried that before. It's called RFFF and our money is resting in an account somewhere with no info being shared about it
DAVIE8CH 296
maybe the rfff could make a substantial donation instead of stashing away our previous attempts at raising monies to defend the rangers.
