RangersMedia 35,961
Yasir Shah the first leggie to take a 5 for at Lords in 20 years. That, on this pitch, is unbelievable. It's doing nothing for spinners. I truly believe this guy is going to go down in history as one of the greatest spinners ever. Creampuff 22,628
To take 5 wickets day 2 at Lord's is ridiculous. Other than Root you wouldn't say that many of them were batsman errors either. Probably lucky with Moeen's being given out on field, but very unlucky with Broad at the end (which was plumb). He is such a brilliant bowler to watch, frighteningly accurate for a leggie. He's 30 now and only in the past year and a half has he really became our frontline bowler. We called him up in 2011, he did OK and was immediately dropped. Right now we could have Imran Tahir and Yasir Shah bowling in tandem, if it weren't for the dreadful nature of our cricket administration. One of the middle order usually does the business per series. The struggle has been to get 2 or more consistently doing it over a prolonged period. RangersMedia 35,961
Stumps on Day 3 Pakistan lead by 281, 2 wickets left in the innings. The aim tomorrow will be to notch an extra 19 runs then bowl at this Eng team, getting Yasir Shah on ASAP whilst rotating the seamers from the other end. sandyinroyalblue 16,478
Overall Pakistan have always just had their noses in front in this match, think they've already got enough to win and Pakistan going 1 nil up will set this series up nicely. Good to see Woakes doing so well,he's bowled well at times without much reward.
Creampuff 22,628
Woakes has had an absolutely brilliant test match. Pakistan going 1-0 would be interesting for the series, particularly with Anderson and Stokes coming back for the second test.

He's created a real selection worry for England. The next test is at Old Trafford - a place which has always had lots of potential for bowlers who can swing it and for spinners. Surely Anderson and Stokes will return to the team in place of Finn & Ballance? Ball hasn't really done much wrong so it would be harsh to drop him. Then the question is will Adil Rashid play. I think he HAS to play at Old Trafford, if not anywhere else in the series. I'm certain we will drop Rahat Ali and bring in Zulfiqar Babar so we have 2 specialist spinners in that test. I wouldn't be so sure it'll be for Finn and Balance. I expect England might drop Finn and Ball to play: Cook, Hales, Root, Vince, Ballance, Stokes, Bairstow, Moeen, Woakes, Broad Anderson. I don't see them playing Rashid, whether or not I agree with that decision. England playing two spinners at home just doesn't sound right. If they're desperate for an extra spin option they could always bring Borthwick in for Vince or Ballance. He's a much better bowler than his record suggests; I wouldn't say Moeen is much better than him. Plus he's a leggie which would be nice. sandyinroyalblue 16,478
That was a brilliant game,I didn't think Pakistan could play that well in English conditions but they were excellent. England's problem now is that Shah looks as though he's got the English batsmen in his back pocket so if they don't get on top of him quickly Pakistan must be heavy favourites to win the series. kplfishtank 4,657
Manchester could be a classic , foolishly I never bought tickets for it but might head down on the Sunday for the day pakistan were great this test , fair play to them. england really need to sort out batting, who plays where and whether guys are deemed good enough. RangersMedia 35,961
Excellent from Pakistan. How fitting that it is Mohammed Amir who takes the last England wicket at the scene of his crime 6 years ago. On to Old Trafford. This is geared up to be an excellent series, that's for sure. RangersMedia 35,961
Dreadful day for us. Wicket isn't doing much, scoreboard pressure getting to the players. Poor. Hopefully Misbah and Shaan can help avoid the follow on.

Strange decision from Cook not to enforce the follow on..Hope the typical Manchester weather doesn't prevent England from making it 1 all in the series...I am sure you will agree..??..
