Gaz52 11,837
More brains in a fried egg sandwich  Celtic captain Scott Brown thinks Aberdeen will be the main challengers to their hopes of winning a sixth Scottish Premiership title in a row. The Dons finished second in the Scottish Premiership last season, with Rangers promoted from the Championship. "I think Aberdeen after the last couple of seasons," Brown told Sky Sports when asked to pick the biggest threat. "They have been exciting to watch, they have come to Celtic Park and got points and we have struggled up there." Aberdeen have been runners-up in the past two campaigns; finishing 15 points behind Celtic in May, two points closer than the previous term. Glasgow rivals Rangers beat Celtic on their way to the Scottish Cup final last season and the Old Firm pair meet on league duty on 10 September. When asked how he thought Rangers would fare, midfielder Brown said: "We'll see that when it comes. That's the fifth game of the season so we have got a few before that. Aberdeen have been great the last couple of years and so have Hearts after coming back up last season." On the derby fixture, Brown added: "It will be good. It's always good, a Rangers-Celtic game, especially with the atmosphere. But there's lots of huge games coming up for us and that's way down the line." Former Celtic midfielder Dugald McCarrison admits nicking ÂŁ45,000 from his work THE 46-year-old, who also played for Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Ipswich, stole oil equipment while working as a storeman. A FORMER Celtic player has admitted stealing thousands of pounds worth of specialist engineering equipment while employed as a storeman. Dugald McCarrison, 46, had been working with global company Valve Components Limited in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire. The firm make and sell products for the oil and gas industry. Former midfielder McCarrison, who was on the books of the Glasgow giants between 1987 and 1993, was carrying out his usual duties when a delivery of metal stems, which are used to control pressure in valves, arrived. However, a stock check later revealed seven items were missing and an investigation was launched. CCTV showed the items arriving but no further record of them was ever found which led to a wider search of the company. This new search discovered 70 stems, which sell for as much as ÂŁ1500 each, were missing and police were called in. They watched CCTV footage showing shamed McCarrison putting boxes of stems into his car on four separate occasions. Nearby scrap metal dealers were contacted and it was discovered he had sold 30 of them for the scrap value of just ÂŁ200 each. McCarrison, of Strathaven, Lanarkshire, has now appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted the theft between March and July last year. However, he disputes the amount of equipment he stole, insisting it was just 30 specialist stems valued at around ÂŁ45,000. A further hearing has been arranged to debate the amount but prosecutors say 70 stems in total were stolen by McCarrison which have a value of ÂŁ100,000. The stems are used in valves to control the flow and pressure of contents including oil and gas. Depute fiscal Michael McIntosh said: "The accused made admissions to stealing the items but insisted the quantity was 30. "Further investigation showed the weight of material corresponded closely with the weight of 70 stems. No further stems have been recovered and the loss to the company is between ÂŁ70,000 and ÂŁ100,000." McCarrison made his debut for the Hoops in 1987 but failed to secure a regular spot in the team before leaving in 1993. The midfielder also played for Kilmarnock, Hamilton Accies, Ipswich and Darlington before breaking his leg in a horror incident during a friendly game in a gala day tournament in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire. He blames the injury for ending his professional football career. McCarrison, who refused to comment, returns to court later this month.
