Wonder how Bougherra and Naisy got on?

Fleck Was Solid As Ever .. Pings Some Great Passes ..

McMillan Was Superb .. cant See Why He's Not Had His Chance Yet :s

Aaron Was Brilliant aswell .. Fired in the corner for Laffterys header .. Almost Scored a free-kick .. And Also Scored Another Good Goal ..

I have been calling for McMillan to be played at RB for the last few months - he's better than both Whittaker and Broadfoot.

I would start both McMillan and Aaron on Sunday - how did Velicka play?

STEVEN NAISMITH inspired a makeshift Rangers side to a 3-1 victory over First Division leaders St. Johnstone at Murray Park this afternoon.

The 22-year-old was impressive throughout the 90 minutes and looked sharp and strong playing in the centre of midfield alongside John Fleck.

Steven NaismithWalter Smith's decision to utilise his £2million forward in this unfamiliar role was clearly to test Naismith's fitness levels but he came through his third outing with flying colours and must be edging closer to a first-team return.

Prior to kick-off it was also hoped the friendly would give Madjid Bougherra a run-out prior to this weekend's trip to Inverness but the Algerian did not make an appearance against a side he is likely to face in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on January 13.

It was Christian Dailly that partnered Lee McCulloch in the heart of defence and minutes before half-time there were concerns on the touchline when the latter fell awkwardly going in to a strong challenge and had to be replaced immediately by youngster Danny Wilson.

Lee hobbled from the pitch clutching his lower back but the injury is not being treated as serious.

Rangers struggled to find any real fluency to their play in the opening 45 minutes and fell behind when former Falkirk striker Liam Craig turned Christian Dailly in the 18-yard box and drilled a left foot shot beyond Graeme Smith from close range.

The Saints did well to limit the Light Blues' goalscoring opportunities prior to the interval but the game opened up in the second period which suited the home side and, in particular, Chris Burke.

The winger produced several flashes of brilliance on the right wing and it was no surprise that he was influential in the equaliser on 65 minutes. Aaron Niguez, Rangers

A twisting turn took him effortlessly past two defenders and his near-post cross was turned home by Andrius Velicka who was quick to thank his teammate for his assist.

On the left flank substitute Aaron, who replaced DaMarcus Beasley on the hour mark, was clearly out to impress and he had a hand in Gers' second goal.

Having won a corner the on loan youngster whipped in a delightful cross and Kyle Lafferty was there to head the ball beyond keeper Euan McLean.

The silky Spaniard then got his reward for his efforts in the latter stages of the game when he bagged his side's third goal with 15 minutes remaining.

Steven Smith crossed from the left and when Naismith headed the ball across goal Aaron was there to complete a good move.

Jordan McMillan came close to adding another in the dying minutes when he cut inside from the right and sent a left-foot effort off the far post.

And McLean had to be lively to deny Aaron a second when the 19-year-old curled a 20-yard free-kick around the Saints wall but the keeper was there to make an excellent one-handed stop.

Overall Rangers deserved the win after an impressive second-half display and the performances from creative players Naismith, Burke and Aaron will give Walter Smith food for thought going in to the New Year.

RANGERS: Smith; McMillan, McCulloch (Wilson 44), Dailly, Smith; Burke (Efrem 70), Naismith, Fleck, Beasley (Aaron 60); Lafferty, Velicka

Velicka Wasnt Too Bad .. Although He Seems VERY Heavy .. Arse Like A Renault Megane .. Still Put The Ball In The Net THo :P .. His Goal was very like a chance Lafferty Had in the 1st chance however he hit the ball straight at the keeper. :(

Bougherra never played ..

I feel certain now that he is definitely leaving us in January, hopefully with the money we get we do buy two decent centre halfs, one being Tonel.

I wonder if Naisy will be fit enough to be on the bench at the weekend, and think it's time that some of the youngsters get a game.
