disgruntled_bear 157
RANGERS boss Walter Smith has tried seven different players in a bid to solve the problem left midfield berth - with varying degrees of success. We run the rule over the boys in blue that have already patrolled this position. Charlie Adam: Scored 14 goals on his first season back from loan spell at St Mirren, but has failed to nail down the left midfield berth since then. Accuracy at set-pieces not in question but lack of athleticism an issue. DaMarcus Beasley: The USA international looked a long-term solution until a horror leg break in Champions League action in Stuttgart in November 2007 curtailed his Ibrox career. Only nine appearances this term, his last start was on December 6 against Hamilton. Lee McCulloch: Niggling injuries have robbed the former Wigan star of the effectiveness he showed on moving to his boyhood favourites in July 2007 for £2.25m. Has even found himself at centre-back. Nacho Novo: The Spanish striker appears to have no future leading the line for Gers up front and has been linked with a move to Spanish cracks Deportivo La Coruna. Delivered livewire display on the left in Sunday's 3-0 victory at Inverness. Kyle Lafferty: The £3m summer signing from Burnley has failed to dislodge Kris Boyd in the main striker's role and has been re-deployed on the left wing. However, his long-term future is seen up front. Aaron Niguez: The 19-year-old signed on a two-year loan deal from Valencia made his only first team appearance of the season on the left in the 7-1 SPL demolition of Hamilton at Ibrox. One for the future. Kenny Miller: Proved his flexibility with a fleeting left-wing cameo but is the first name down on boss Smith's striker's detail. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/displa...rch_goes_on.php
mac444 6
I've said it for a while, we should be playing a 4-3-3 formation, as we have NO decent wide midfield players, with the possible exception of Aaron, who could play as the left of 3 strikers
Muff 245
4-5-1/4-3-3/4-2-4 - the formation we should be playing!
Craigy 0
If Aaron & Fleck are not going to be given a chance then we have to give Beasley a good run of games. It's infuriating watching Novo, Whittaker, Lafferty and even Miller on the flanks when we have natural wingers on the bench and in the rest of squad. mark_ni 12
maybe if he stuck with one player we mightnt have the left sided problem. I thought beasley had one of his best games for us for a long time the last time he started yet he gets dropped for the next game. Lafferty isnt a left winger and shouldnt be an option there. Adam and mcculloch are just pish and novo isnt great on the left wing either imo. As far as i can see that leaves beasley and aaron who looked lively in his 15min cameo against hamilton yet still cant get a game ahead of pish like charlie adam who has consistantly proven that hes not good enough. Theres no need to for the "search to go on" as the answer is sitting on the bloody bench. Spanish under 21 international winger and we wont give him a game. ridiculous
papaguy51 912
The left mid spot is a total poisoned chalice. If you don't have a stormer of a game, you get dropped out the team for 6 weeks. And even if you play well, you get subbed for Novo at the 73rd minute.

Guest
I forgot we paid 2.5 million for McCulloch.

The crazy doctor went and treated him for a knee ligament injury! Surely someone should have spotted this sooner. It merely highlights the mockery our medical staff are. Thank you Bert Mitchell, for enlightening us all with a standard of investigative journalism, not seen since Watergate.
TMWWBK 0
Beasley shouldn't have been dropped after the Hamilton demolition.

ShootSpeedKillLight 0
The only two decent options (Aaron and Beasley) are the ones Smith is most reluctant to use. The cynic in me suggests it's because they're not his mates, but I hope I'm wrong.
macka1990 0
Should play ferguson on the left and adam in the middle haha im not even joking
ClintonGrey 365
Should play ferguson on the left and adam in the middle haha im not even joking Should play shagger on the wing, just make sure that there's some hot bird in a catsuit behind the goal. His dribbling and balls in the box will be insanely good.
