Carsons Dog 9,878
"John Fleck has been a bit of a bonus for us. When I saw him at the start of the season starting to integrate in to our group, I thought it might have taken him most of this season to get started, but he has played very well. "For somebody so young, he is quite calm on the ball. His best position is as a striker. " Whats the odds on us ever seeing him play there?

ShootSpeedKillLight 0
He's said the same about Lafferty and Naismith, but of course they never get played there. That would mean dropping Boyd and/or Miller.
Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
People on here see him more as an attacking midfielder and not a striker, but to be honest we don't see him in training I think he will be one of those players who will be able to play anywhere in the midfield or striking roles in the future. I was very surprised at this; I have only seen him play in midfield in reserves and under 19's and scotland under 16's either as an attacking midfielder or as central midfielder. TMWWBK 0
Didn't McCoist say that he doesnt know his best position just 10 days or so ago? In any case, he's an 'in the hole' player.
Scott-RFC 308
I dont think theres space for him atm through the middle, id have Novo and Boyd up front, with Fleck continuing out left
ManchestGer 347
I'd like to see him playing just off a striker, he looks great when attacking on the ball

EDIT: re-reading your post are you talking about Walter's view on Fleck or is Walter talking about himself?
Bobby83 0
Rather than what position he is playing what worries me most is what hes learning (or neglecting even unlearning in training). Look as the boys technique in clips of him scoring two against Celtic in the youth cup final. Looked to have far less control of the ball at Aberdeen. People will say its a different level, he had more time on the ball, but his technique was far superior. I.e our crappy training tactics are robbing the boy of his skills and wasting his development.
