jim_beam 2
Currently undergoing a medical at Man City I think Joe Hart's a cracking keeper but needs to be playing to develop , wonder what the plans for him will be ? Surely Given's gonna go straight into being no.1 Intresting
Linfield 0
Given will take no1 spot
J_RFC87 761
Hart and Kasper Schm are both really good goalkeepers, especially the former. Silly Man City, even though Given is brilliant. Newcastle for the drop now, he's carried them on his shoulders for years.

flyingkipper 4
Steve Harper. Been there since the first Keegan reign. Decent goalie. I remember him playing outfield against Celtic in Shearer's testimonial a few years back and setting up a goal!
Mike Newells Sexist Army 2
Harper's a good keeper but the rest of Newcastle's squad is still mostly pish, then they also still have Owen and Barton out injured as well. Really disappointed in this signing for Man City though, Joe Hart will be a fantastic keeper and while he does need to develop aspects of his game he won't do that sitting on the bench for 3 years. Doubt he'll to be happy about it either, he's been first choice pretty much since a year within signing, displaced Isaksson and is now a full England international, can see him asking to move in the summer. Juno 2
Joe Hart is a brilliant Premiership keeper, but Given is in a class of his own at times.

You've got to wonder about the other young players at City too. I like Daniel Sturridge, but I can see him not playing much with all the big names coming in. And remember Michael Johnson from last season? He's hardly played this time round because he can't get in the team.
BlueSuedeSambas 53,840
They were desperate for Michael Johnson to sign a new contract about a year ago. Now it looks like he has become dispenable, but I'll tell you something, whoever picks him is getting a hell of a player.
BlueSuedeSambas 53,840
I'll tell you something else now that Man City have money to burn I fully expect that they will overhaul everything from first team right through to the academies, replacing what is already there with more luxurious names. If that happens then we should go after Jim Cassell to oversee the youngsters at Murray Park.
Muff 245
Joe Hart is a good keeper but Shay Given is on a totally different level. Great signing for Manchester City should it go through. Given should have left Newcastle years ago, just ashame he's not winning a move to a club like Arsenal.
MayboleLoyal_atb 3,710
My mate is friends with Joe Hart. Good keeper. Given is t****** bastart.
Muff 245
Yeah he might well be, but he's still a top class keeper.
MayboleLoyal_atb 3,710
Yeah he might well be, but he's still a top class keeper. Can't argue with that. He was only holding himself back at Newcastle.

MayboleLoyal_atb 3,710
Yeah just saw that. Wonder if they'll move for McGregor now? Its a likely move that they will make. How much we will hold out for is whats worrying me.
bluenose_72 198
Yeah just saw that. Wonder if they'll move for McGregor now? You'd think they would. Have to replace him with a good keeper if they want to stay in the Premiership.
Muff 245
Depends if he thinks Steve Harper is good enough to be 1st choice?

Stardog 11
They've needed a keeper for ages. Hart's too young and not good enough, and Schmeichel wants to leave.
