  1. Once a player leaves is there really much point in going through all the same criticism again? Wishing the guy the best of luck seems more appropriate.
  2. It's the Light Blues. Just because "Royal Blue" was used in songs I don't think it makes it correct. Same goes for "Glasgow Rangers" which is used in songs but is not the correct name.
  3. I don't understand why people keep thinking the big tax case was anything to do with the legality of EBTs. Perhaps it's because this is the line peddled by our enemies and is therefore understandable. All the BTC confirmed was that tax was due on the payments made. The final appeal that was lost did not change anything other than confirming a tax bill against the oldco which already existed.
  4. I don't think you could afford to just make Miller our manager. The only way Miller would be manager is if he took over temporarily but then became a massive success and got it permanent. Players will play for a caretaker if he has their respect. I want to see how the first few games of our season pan out and give Pedro the chance with his full team and with a few games under their belt. At the same time I have massive concerns like a lot of others. I personally don't think Miller should be manager, I was just making the point that if we needed someone in charge for a few games he wouldn't be as bad an option as some think.
  5. I'm not talking about giving Miller the job permanently so there would be very little risk involved. I'm making the point that if your looking for a caretaker for a few games he isn't as bad an idea as your making out.
  6. Having experience is never a guarantee of success unfortunately and every appointment has it's risks. Miller has no managerial experience but everyone has to start somewhere. McCulloch had a few games as caretaker and he earned himself a permanent position. Miller knows the club, knows the game and would get respect from the players. On that I would have no problem with him getting the job temporarily to see how he does. Saying that, McInnes was my choice last time and would be this time as well if we're looking to change manager.
  7. This is spot on. The new contract is also probably a result of him turning down the Sunderland job as well. I reckon he's had a decent wage increase as well.
  8. I sense Miller would get the respect of the other players. In fact he probably already has it with how he performs on the pitch. How he would get the team playing is another thing altogether so it's a risk. If we were looking for another manager, you could easily give it to someone like Miller for a few games to see how he does. He's probably not the answer but I don't think it's as idiotic an idea as your making out. Miller has more of a football brain than many other players. I wouldn't have a problem with him as caretaker and see what happens.
  9. He was apparently known in Italy as "The Thorn of Inter" due to the amount he scored against them. I'm pretty sure we signed him simply because we had drawn Inter in the Champions League. And then he never played a game for us.
  10. I would call them handwringers. What makes you thing it's wrong?
  11. I still don't understand the appointment as it was always going to be massively risky, especially with a significant outlay on players he has chose to bring in. If it fails for him the board will come in for a lot of criticism and rightfully so. On the other hand, he's the manager of Rangers and has my support. It would be brilliant if he turned us around but if your being realistic we're miles from turning any corners.
  12. The fee we would have got next summer would have been £0. If you look at it from that pov it's not that bad. I reckon if he still had a few years left on his contract he would have been about 2.5million.
  13. The final against Raith was a terrible result. This is 10x worse.
  14. (1) You don't know that. He ticks most boxes and is a lower risk than many of the other names we were linked with. (2) Your not going to win a title in Scottish football today at any of the clubs he's managed.
  15. I'd agree McKay is a 2 million pound player but your not going to get anywhere near that amount when he can leave for free in a year.
  16. If McKay consistently played to his best in most games he would have been a more valuable asset. He's simply not consistent enough. Based on this I would say he's worth about 2 million but he is in the last year of his contract and it's clear he's not signing a new deal. With add-ons Rangers will get about a third of this which is about right if you ask me. It's that or he goes for nothing next summer.
  17. That photo doesn't make him injury-prone. He's not had a bad injury since that one. The point I made was on the basis of his stats. He's played between 30 and 40 games every season since leaving us except the one in which he moved to Norwich in which he played 26.
  18. I don't know where people get the idea he is injury-prone. He's played around 30 league games every season since leaving us. As for goals, he has never been a prolific scorer, even with us or Killie. There's never been any denying his ability and I doubt Norwich paid 8.5 million last January if he had lost that ability. If you want to stop them and win the title, we need a team that can challenge, which means the best possible players we can realistically get.
  19. What Naismith done was disgraceful but you can't blame Rangers fans for simply wanting to win the title as quickly as possible.
  20. Are we not talking about players we could realistically sign?
  21. In terms of his footballing ability he is better than anything we have. If we were turning him down it should be for his fitness and not because of how he left us.
  22. It's nothing to do with forgiveness. The point some are trying to make, and I would agree, is that if we want to stop them sooner rather than later, we need to be willing to bring in the best possible footballers. Grudges are fine but as long as they don't hinder us.
  23. We might have got 2 to 2.5 if he had at least a couple years left on contract. If we sold him this window it would be between 1 and 1.5. I'd be happy with that as hes not gonna sign a new contract now so best to get something for him.
  24. Far too much focus on this 'ten' figure. We should be ensuring their maximum is 'six'. Whatever anyone thinks of those 6 titles will be made irrelevant as soon as we win the title ourselves.
