jaywalker 377
I first heard it on a supporters bus going past Loch Lomond bear park, I'm sure that would have been early 70s.40 odd drunken supporters shouting come on the berrs was quite amusing at the time. MaddistonKnight 1,570
It came from the US President of the time, one Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, who gave his name to the Teddy Bear.On noticing so many immigrants coming over from ireland, and him querying them on the current status of the patatas famine, his nickname was picked up by the Rangers fans of the time as he was obviously one of us, so hence we became known as the Teddy Bears. This new hero to the Ibrox masses was known to ride into battle on a horse, shouting No Surrender as he went.Allegedly.
