Scottish giants Rangers return to the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens for the first time since 2014, when they reached the Shield final before a 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

The Glasgow side have won a record 54 top-flight titles in a glittering 144-year history that has also seen them claim 33 Scottish Cups and 27 Scottish League Cups, while stars including Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup and Ally McCoist are among a long list to establish a lasting legacy at Ibrox.

However, Rangers have only just returned to the Scottish Premier League after the club’s financial problems saw them relegated to the fourth tier in 2012. Back-to-back promotions elevated The Gers to the second tier by 2014, although they took a further two seasons to rejoin Scotland’s elite.

Now back where they rightfully belong, a club with one of the proudest histories in British football will next aim to bring an end to their great rivals Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football.

Rangers have yet to win the HKFC Citi Soccer Sevens but did reach back-to-back finals in 2009 and 2010 only to lose 1-0 to Celtic in an all Glasgow final before suffering a 3-2 reversal to Aston Villa a year later.

They now return with the next generation of stars looking establish themselves at Ibrox and help write a new chapter in the club’s illustrious history.

There's still a mismatch sometimes in the main tournament age-wise sometimes - Rangers have the Hong Kong 23's "national" side in their group too who looked good against Cagliari.

Yeah it is.

And yes we won. Some decent play and (as I said earlier) thr young guys can control a fast pace ball on this 3g pitch quite well.
