I agree with you Frankie but I spoke with both Barry and Kris Boyd at the NARSA convention before the start of last season and both were down in the dumps about the dressing room and the lack of any atmosphere between the players. Surely it is a big improvement if they are now all getting along.

After the initial disbelief of signing someone who apparently hated us, a little bit of devilment in knowing that the scum were in utter turmoil and hating the idea far more than we were.

For me he is a great player but terrible captain (I would have went for poor) and nothing to do with the PLG affair. Being captain of Rangers lasts far longer than 90 mins on the park, you are always in the spotlight. How many times have you seen pictures of Barry looking like a Ned and acting the same way? During interviews he is often an embarrassment. Part of the club captains role is being an ambassador for the club and to me Barry is uncomfortable with this role. He is IMO by far the best talent at the club.

I didn't know he wasn't invited but hell mend him. By the sounds of things he wasn't missed.

I see where your coming from but if there was a Euro league and we were in it it would be the second or dare I say third tier. We would probably be in with the Scandinavian teams. If that were the case we might, just might do ok. Being in with the Scandinavian teams would not help us. Still little TV money and more expense traveling to games. We need to be in with the big boys to generate money. Stadiam and support wise we can compete with anyone but we need the 50-60 million a year in TV money to buy the players that let you compete with the best.

This subject crops up a lot. The problem is trying to find the time to fit that all in. When the season finishes the players have to get their hollidays. Then back for pre season training. You might try splitting the squad to play different places but people would complain about getting only half the first team and I don't know if diluting the brand is a good thing. Plus I'm sure the coaches will want all the first team training together. I have to admit it was great when we had the winter break and being selfish we were lucky enough for the team to come over to Ft Lauderdale. There will always be someone that will miss out.

I agree. Most of the other players improved their consistancy after the arrival of Walter and Ally but we did not get the chance to see much of Buffel due to injury.

I had the pleasure of playing golf with Andy a few years ago and let there be no doubt he is a diehard Rangers man and a gentleman. Unfortunately his material is outdated by 40 years and it is indead past time for a change.

What are people's thoughts on a consortium ? Individuals that have the cash (and we are talking in the region of 100m) to buy and then put substantial investment after the purchase are few and far between. Individuals that have the cash and are "Rangers men" are an even rarer commodity. So a consortium is probably the way we will have to go. If all members of this consortium are "Rangers men" then this would not be a bad thing as with more than one head controling things it becomes more difficult for tunnel vision to take us in the wrong direction. Murray should sell back the assets that he has stripped from RFC at the same price he took them for to make Rangers a better proposition. He has after all been skimming the proffits for years with none of that money going back to RFC.

Rangers will not confirm until after a medical and he has signed so rumors and dodgy newspapers are all we have to go on.
