  1. I can't believe we will get through the next 5 games undefeated so I have guessed Win Win Draw Lose Win I think we will do well to get a draw at Parkhead and I think we will hold on against Osasuna to go through but only on the back of a result at Ibrox. 2-0 win at Ibrox, 0-1 over there
  2. I am Living In Baku Azerbaijan... although possibly not for much longer... any move will be to another overseas destination possibly Dubai
  3. I have to say the whole interview was all very gay sounding..... not that there is anything wrong with that... but are they???
  4. I also hurt when we lose... or even draw with teams like Falkirk...been hurting alot this season
  5. Second best midfielder in Britain apparently? Yes...it must be true as over 50% of barrymedia posters voted so Thats not fair, he was only second best because their was no option in there for "No, he is better than Gerrard"
  6. Good post, the highlighted part in particular. This was maybe my main point but it seems to be missed a little so far. How do you feel about supporters saying that other supporters are not fans if they do or dont do certain things or have a differing point of view? In answer to your question I am not defined by what other fans/supporters think about me. I define myself. I call myself a Rangers supporter despite only having attended around 20 games in my life due to my personal circumstances. I really don't care what other peoples definition of a supporter is. I always follow Rangers, I was given a Rangers strip as a 3 year old and never waivered in my following of the team since. I watch as many games as I can on the TV, I purchase the jersey when I can and if I am ever asked which team I support I say Rangers. However, Football is not my "be all and end all" and while I respect other peoples right to treat Rangers as their number 1 priority, I have other priorities. If someone asked me the question "define yourself" then Rangers probably would not come into my personal definition. Also I am not religious, but I respect all religions and peoples right to follow them, actually I am quite fascinated by religion and the anthropological side of it. I am not a royalist but I think the Union is valuable to Scotland. I think the Irish are great people and have had a number of Irish girlfriends and still have many Irish friends, Frankly though I think Religion and Politics are completely irrelevant to my support of my football team. I know others commit much more of their life to Rangers as an institution and thank goodness they do, I acknowledge that if every "supporter" was the same as me the club would be in a sad state. I am grateful to all the die hard supporters that attend the games every week and pay their hard earned coin to keep the club alive. There are many "better" fans than me and I am ok with that.
  7. Do you think there is an element of mind games being played here? I don't necessarily disagree with this guys comments but perhaps he learned from the Israelies giving us pelters and then seeing the reaction that provoked he has decided to just butter us up??? I mean he is saying Novo could play in a top Spanish team and Kris Boyd is very good at holding the ball up???
  8. What is David saying though? That any faith besides his own will lead to damnation of the soul? Admittedly I've not read the whole thing, so could someone clarify the remark. On the surface, the mockery and insult of other faiths is surely against the doctrine of respect for one another? So, someone come in and clear this one up for me please. My interpretation of what DS said is not a biggotted one. All I understand from his statement is that if you are a Protestant then the view is that Catholics are going to hell?? If you are a Catholic then you think that protestants are going to hell. Its a little quirk of following one religion that the ones you do not follow assume that you are damned. Of course the fact the Catholics and Protestants are essentially the same religion namley Christianity only makes the whole thing more ridiculous and the fact that three of the major religions that are involved in todays religious wars actually worship the same God (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) Just to further the controversy, I believe religion to be nothing more than control of the populace through fables and stories. Albeit they have good intentions and indeed have worked very well at suppressing the hoi polloi down the ages and giving them the best moral guidance of the era, I think religion has had its time and that other methods of controlling the populace are taking shape. I think we will rue the day that the new methods take over the old completely as they seem primarily based on fear. Fear through first the cold war and nuclear armaggeddon and latterly fear through the constant threat of terrorism. Mind you religion was also based on "the fear of God" so really not much changes However I am WAAAYYY of topic of a Rangers Football Club Forum. Hatred of any form has no place in a football stadium religious, racial, sexist or any other denomination.....it is, after all, just a game.....
  9. Excellent post, I was starting to lose faith for a minute there as I read through all our own fans tearing our own players to shreds?? WTF is that all about. At this stage we should be getting behind all our players, particularly the ones we seem to be derisory about in this thread. Stevie Smith in particular was one of the highlights of PLG's short reign, ever present for ages and never let the team down. Allan McGregor may have his deficiencies but he made the goalkeeping slot his own despite PLG bringing in his own man and making it clear his initial preference, ffs McGregor won player of the month in November didn't he? He has also saved us many many times with some very good saves. Hutton has had his detractors and I have been one of them but he always gives 100% and has improved dramatically this season and particularly in the last few weeks. I honestly felt like I was on the wrong forum when I was reading through the first dozen posts, it easily could have been a Celtic forum having a good go at Rangers deficiencies. In these dark times if we can jump on a few good performances and hold them up as examples for others in the team and if we can encourage our players by highlighting their positives rather than their negatives then I think we should grab the opportunity rather than labelling it as over-rating sub-standard players. Just my opinion of course
  10. I don't get to see much of the scottish game and when I do watch its only Rangers. Is Gow any good, was he good before Anthoiy Stokes was on loan? Is it possibvle that Stokes made him look better than he was? All genuine questions as I really have never seen him play
  11. Richard Gough won 9 titles, 3 Scottish Cups and 6 League Cups during his time at Rangers. There was one treble in 92-93. Cheers, so I wasn't too far off the mark then...
  12. Oh and I think I got some of my facts wrong but I was ranting so I think I can be forgiven, Denmark didn't win the European Championships in 1990 but in 1992 and I was taking most of the Stats from Wikipedia so there may be some errors in number of appearances etc. but the overall point was that it was a ludicrous comparison supported by lies and pointless statistics... Also did Gough win 9 titles? Was he there for all of them, I seem to recall he was? and how many domestic cup competitions did we win when Gough was playing or us?
  13. The Simple Reply was: -----Original Message----------- And I thought that I could rant!!!!!! Not bad though, all things considered!!
  14. Just Wanted to share a wee e-mail exchange I had with one of my mates out here and see what the reaction. Would prefer it wasn't moved to Old Firm as it is the Gers fans reaction i am interested in. Don't care about the Celtic fans reaction Here it is with the e-mail I received first and my response later: ----- Forwarded Message ---- Sent: Wednesday, 7 February, 2007 1:47:20 PM Subject: Henrik The next time some h**/idiot tries to compare: HENRIK LARSSON (The king) to Brian Laudrup (Jim White's boyfriend - JWB) Shoot them down with some of these facts........... 1. The King won 4 Scottish Titles. Jim White's Boyfriend won 3. 2. The King won 2 Scottish Cups. Jim White's Boyfriend won 1. 3. The King won 4 League Cups. Jim White's Boyfriend won 2. 4. The King scored 2 goals in a UEFA Cup Final. Jim White's Boyfriend never played in a UEFA Cup Final. 5. The King was part of a European Cup winning team. JWB never played in a European Cup Final. 6. The King scored in the Champions League group stages every season he was in them. JWB never scored in the group stages of the Champions League. Not even once. Zero times. 7. The King won 2 Spanish League titles. JWB lasted 2 Premiership games before quitting. 8. The King scored 242 goals in Scotland. JWB never even got out of double figures. 9. The King won every available honour/award a footballer can win in Scotland. JWB did not. 10. The King won the European Golden Boot. JWB did not. 11. The King is Britain's top European goalscorer. JWB is not even in the top 150. 12. The King was voted Sweden's greatest EVER player, ahead of Llundberg, Ibrahimovic etc. JWB was not even in Denmark's top 5 ever. He finished below Erik Bo Anderson. 13. The King scored goals in World Cup 1994, World Cup 2002, World Cup 2006 as well as Euro 2000 and Euro 2004. JWB never ever ever scored in an international tournament. Not even once. Zero times. 14. The King had a national campaign in Spain to get him to stay on at Barcalona. JWB admits in his own words on his Scottish club's website that he was a failure in Germany and England and that Italian football was not for him. WE ALL agree with him. 15. The King was awarded an MBE in Britain. JWB was not. 16. The King was voted the greatest ever foreigner in Scotland by the Scottish press. JWB was not. 17. The King is about to turn 34 and had the biggest club in Europe Barcelona, begged him to stay. Now he'[s playing for Man Utd!!! JWB was finished at 30. 29 actually, but he came out of 'retirement' at 30 to play with amateurs in Denmark for 2 months. That was nice of him. Now, watch 120,000 Barcalona fans and players chant the name of "The King" and watch Ronaldinho try to persuade him to stay in his farewell presentation..... enjoy........watching him continue his magnificent career with Man Utd Hail Hail ----- Replied Message ---- Sent: Thursday, 15 February, 2007 11:47:20 AM Subject: RE: Henrik He he.. painful really... Deep Breath Laudrup played 133 games for Rangers as opposed to Larssons 221. So hardly valid comparing the number of trophies considering their duration in Scottish football was different. However if you were to work out the ratio of trophies to appearances then Laudrup comes out on top. Richard Gough for example played 294 games for Rangers and won 9 titles (in a row apparently) as well as numerous other trophies. Shall we compare King Richard with "King" Henrik??? Larsson was part of a European cup winning team after leaving your club, in fact in the same team as one of our ex-players Gio Van Bronckhurst, who ... for the record.. played only 77 games for Rangers, almost a third of Henrik Larssons total for Celtic yet bagged 2 league victories and 3 domestic cups again, ratio wise, a better games to trophies ratio (Henrik got a trophy for every 27.7 games he played, Gio got one every 15.4 and Laudrup one every 22.4). None-the -less comparing records of players before arriving or after leaving your own is clutching at straws, Rino Gattuso, world cup winner, Stefan Klos European cup winner, Stephane Guivarch ffs won a world cup Henrik Larsson's position is Striker, Brian Laudrup's position was Attacking Midfielder. To compare goal scoring stats is juvenile at best. There are also other clearly erroneous statements in there like JWB was not even in Denmark's top 5 ever. He finished below Erik Bo Anderson. What utter clap trap, The Laudrup brothers are widely acknowledged as the best players Denmark has ever produced, competing with the likes of Schmeichel and John Dahl Tomasson and Brian Laudrup was actually voted 5th best player in the world in 1992 although he did lose out to brother Michael in Denmarks best ever. Eric Bo Andersen is a plumber who never even registered in a Danish vote The King won every available honour/award a footballer can win in Scotland. JWB did not. The awards in Scottish football presumabely meaning players player of the year and writers player of the year, both of which Laudrup did actually win JWB never ever ever scored in an international tournament. Not even once. Zero times. Outright fallacy. Laudrup was a major feature of the 1990 European Champion winning side for Denmark. He did not score in "that" tournament however he scored 3 goals in 3 games at Euro 96 despite a misfiring team, he scored in the 1998 World Cup, and scored a goal every 4 games for his country despite NOT BEING A STRIKER Laudrup retired early in his career after realising that to leave Rangers is to step down whereas Larsson has realised that after Celtic the only way is up Henrik Larsson, one of the finest talents ever to grace any football field, one of the true Greats to have played in Scotland specifically, a player with only 7% body fat at the age of 34 and plying his trade at the very top. A truely professional footballer and also a decent man and you monkeys tarnish his name by spouting this pish. A pointless effort at one upmanship supported by lies and irrelevant statistics. Laudrup was a Rangers great, Henrik was a Celtic great whats the problem? Why does there need to be a comparison? What is missing in these knuckle draggers sad existence that drives them to prove anything? and Breathe..... rant over Cheers
  15. the fish gets kicks out of winding ppl up ergo. best way to deal with it is to not get wound up??? Cany believe i just used the word "ergo"

Fish is like Father Jack from Father Ted... drink girls feck ... murray pay up or gtf and take yer bumboy bain wi ye....drink.... Goan yersel super ally,
  19. 0-0 bore draw... Watty is playing it tight with Rae
  20. Apparently around 7% of the support??
  21. How do you set up a poll to ask everyone their views on Barry Ferguson... legend or not??
  22. Just a joke. Mathews played for us as a guest during the war and Best played in the match to raise money for the disaster, although technically that was a Rangers/Celtic IX. Still...must rank in the top 5 players who played for us? YYeah Wikipedia solved the mystery... I now understand you were joking but seriously Laudrup played his best football with us, I admit I thought it was more than 133 games but still. I guess it is always debatable but he, along with Gazza were just such a joy to watch. during their time with Rangers. Best, Matthews maybe the most legendary players ever to have played a game with us but Laudo.. Rangers legend... IMO Well Gascoigne was never a 'joy' for me but that's a different story. I agree Laudrup was a great player as was Gascoigne but I just think that one of the qualifications for legend status should be that you played a substantial amount of games for the club. In Gascoigne's case we weren't even his main club as he actually played more for Newcastle and Spurs. The hat trick against aberdeen to win the title? Not a joy? Possibly the best single performance I have ever seen from an individual... the double against hearts in the cup after knocking back a whisky at half time?? That wasn't a joy to behold? Many other performances that were just a pleasure to witness. The man may not rank as a legend in the same way as Laudrup but Gazza was often brilliant for us. Anyway I understand your view and its fair, I personally just don't feel the longevity is a necessary criterion for legend.
  23. Just a joke. Mathews played for us as a guest during the war and Best played in the match to raise money for the disaster, although technically that was a Rangers/Celtic IX. 24. So Stanley Mathews and George Best are Rangers legends ? Ferguson will never be a legend in my eyes....never.Sorry... am not very good at the quoting thing, but I am not following your George Best and Stanley Mathews references??
  25. While I agree that the word Legend is thrown around with too much ease... Laudrup has to be classed as a legend. He is possibly the best player to ever have played for the club. Certainly in the top 5. I would also say that when Fergie is done in 5 or 6 years he will be remembered with legendary status. Boyd.... he may be a legend one day but its way way to early to know for sure... if he carries on like he is for the rest of the decade then he has a chance... I don't think there is a defined set of criteria to qualify a legend... for example would Negri be classed as a legend... his scoring feat over 6 months are certainly stuff of legend
