Well one thing about him is that top quality players recognise and appreciate his talent, even though he only got a few minutes for Scotland any time he had the ball the French had 3 players round about him and these are footballers not hackers. If the French team was worried about what he could do then this shows that he is a very valuable and talented player possibly one of the best players to come out of Scotland in a long time.

He really helped Kiernan and Gilks was very good giving orders from the back to the defence.

Just got in from the match and I have to say for what was only a 2nd competitive match without any real pre-season due to this stupid new set up the players did very well I felt. McKay's goal was just sublime already a contender for goal of the season I feel, and the pass for Waggy's goal was excellent and well taken by Waggy, we could have easily won by 4 or 5 nil and would have if it wasn't for their goalie having a very good game. I think Tav and Wes will be kept on their toes by Hodson and Gilks, though not seemingly a threat going forward as much as Tav Hodson did do the defensive duties better and even though Gilks didn't actually have a save to make he commanded the goal perfectly and the two central defenders. At one point he was even moving up to the half way line to tell Kiernan and Hill what they should be doing he was continually shouting out to the defence telling them where to be and who to watch and because of that and Hill talking to Kiernan, Kiernan's game was a lot better. Early doors yet but once this squad gets into full swing and we play teams who won't have all their players behind the ball (though I think this will actually still happen by a lot of Spl teams) then we will rip this league a new one.

Funny we keep talking about King when it is MW who has been identifying the targets that he wants! MW also gives advice on how much he feels a player should be valued at and the club has a strict wage structure which all players adhere to. Therefore if we have approached clubs and out of contract players about coming to us if a club is demanding more than what we're willing to offer then we should walk away and if a player is demanding wages way above our pay structure then they should go to hell.

Well MW really rates him and if I remember correctly I'm sure he said in a previous interview that he feels Wes could be in the England set up one day(or should be), so good news for us if we tie him down longer especially for next season when we're back playing in Europe.

Think he was probably given more respect by the French team in his cameo appearance for Scotland, as soon as he had the ball they had 3 players surrounding him though after about half of last season I noticed that the opposition would double up on him at least and even then he managed to get the better of them. Excellent talent definitely one of the best that's ever came out of our Academy.
