I dont think we will do this every summer - I think this is the squad we will use as the basis for our SPL assault with only 2-4 players in AND out every year to increase quality but this 'spree' is that foundation. Last season we looked woefully weak interms of squad depth but we cant say that this time.
From what I see Ally is trying to address all the critisisms leveled at the team last year - and he (and the board) have removed any excuses (which is what many moaned about) - I admire that about Ally - he has taken away all excuses so we now (even I) look for improved performances as th platform to get back to the top.

Me, I am happy with them making the statements they are because they are revealing NOTHING to those would destroy us.

All directors are equal in law but non - executive directors generally don't take part in day to day running of the company that is done by executive directors - such as a CEO or marketing director, financial director etc. A chairman will usually be here to guide and lead strategy, direction etc. A non exec does that on usually a oversight/ experience basis and and exec does the actual implementation. so an exec chairman will lead and make day to day decisions but a non- exec will only provide leadership and experience. in companies it is usually the Chairman and or CEO who also act as the public 'face' of the board ( but not exclusively so)

With his length of managerial experience, at both Rangers and Everton , he would have been well involved with the business side of the clubs and also seemed to be no slouch with his own contracts.
He is a proven leader and trusted by the vast majority of Rangers fans ( sadly not all as this forum shows) and would be an excellent figurehead at this time when we need stability.
Rangers are no longer a dictictorial led business but a board led business and no one director will have all the skills we need and therefore who better than Walter at the helm?

Well on my copy of Business Manager 2013 Walter gets a very good rating, won the Business World Cup twice with Pound Stretchers.
