  1. So if the stadium was half empty, it would be acceptable for the team to create less chances or not score?
  2. If people are honest they will say they realistically we never had much chance of winning the league, but being top on a few occasions and having the chance to put them on the back foot, would have given our team a massive lift and put them in a position many of their players/staff haven't been in before... Unfortunately too many of our players don't have the right mentality for it!
  3. In the 5 fixtures before we played them St Johnston had lost all 5 by a combined score of 13-1! It was obvious against us yesterday that they set out to play very defensive and waste as much time as possible, they were wasting time before 10mins, but after losing 5 on the spin, their attitude is going to change and make it very difficult. How many goals celtic beat them by is irrelevant as is how many supporters were there or who pays their wages!
  4. I think the latter part of your post is spot on, but I think we do cross the ball, in general, very well but I think we rely on it to much at the moment! I also think that whilst Tav and Barasic are good at crossing, Candeias/Kent/Halliday etc are very hit and miss, but it doesnt help when we are punting balls into the box in the air for Defoe. As for Lafferty hes just a booking waiting to happen, he throws his arms all over the place whenever a ball is put in the air!
  5. Our squad isn't good enough to put up a season long sustained title challenge, whilst having 10-15 games in Europe. We need to be finishing 2nd every season without fail, get to as many finals as possible and then build from there. People expecting Rangers to win the league is a massive monkey on our back, that doesnt help, as we dont have the players or the squad to cope with at the moment!
  6. I dont think its necessairly the lack of pace in build ups, we have quick players, but the tempo does at teams seem to slow and deliberate. I was fortunate enough to attend a conference once, about football and match tactics, and the topic was how two seemingly difference tactics (Jose Mourinho's supposed defensive tactics and Pep Guardiola's supposed attacking tactics) were both effective not because the played one particular style but that the key thing was the change in tempo, to cut teams open. Playing slow methodical possession football, wears teams out and with the right players should allow you to control the game and simiarly very direct football should enable you to get the ball forward quickly and take advantage of a team lacking defensive options, but by far the most effective way of scoring was when the tempo changed from having the ball, too going for the kill. In my opinion we have the players to be able to switch from building the ball from the back, to creating a chance in 2-3-4 passes, but at the moment we are too heavily reliant on our wingers/fullbacks to do so effectively.
  7. I don't think its as easy to say that Kamara wasn't direct enough, Davis has no option etc... Arfield, Jack, Kamara, Davis, Ejaria, Coulibaly, Halliday, Dorrans, McCrorie, Rossiter have all played in the center of midfield for us this season at various times and it's not a coincidence that with the main 4-5 players used in those position this season all show very little difference in terms of style of play. In my opinion its obvious that they are being told to play like that! Our main method of attacking seems to be to overload wide areas and put balls into the box, so when the central midfielders get the ball, they look for the pass out wide, or to the other midfielder. Watching from the stands there is always acres of space in the number 10 position but we never have anyone near there as we arent interested in playing through the middle. We are very good in wide areas, which is probably the reason we focus on it, but its now becoming a bit of a hindrance, as we have no other way of playing and teams can now prepare for it, like St Johnstone did yesterday. Just get your midfielders wide, get them to double up with wingers/other midfielders and try to prevent our fullbacks and wingers getting the ball, whilst the traditional back 4 and defensive midfielder play narrow in the box to try and clear the crosses. Obviously there will be times when we are able to create a chance doing this, but in recent games (Kilmarnock in the cup and yesterdayt especially) without Morelos, we look aimless and I wouldnt like to see the number of crosses we put into the box yesterday, only for it to be cleared! Do we have the players to change the style of play at the moment? I am not sure we do!
  8. Whilst it might make a slight difference, as others have said, you only need to look at the richest league in the world and even they are bringning in VAR as refs keep making wrong decisions!
  9. So we are defining a "dirty player" as someone who injures opposition players? You can get sent off without injuring players... As for the fair play table, we are currently joint bottom with Hamilton Accies, I wonder how many players they have injured this season?
  10. I think you've quoted the wrong person I am not James. Level 5 is still level 5, not quite as high in the chain at level 6, but higher than level 1-4 so its all good...🙃
  11. A lot of words that at first glance make you think oh aye fuck the SFA no surrender and all that but there really isn't any substance to it... We start going on about not accepting decisions or having no confidence and we get fined (again) for doing so...and as for threatening to take legal action who exactly do we take to court or take action against and on what grounds? What exactly are the club doing over and above the "minimum legal essentials" at the moment that we could stop doing? If the above gets said by Rangers we become a laughing stock!
  12. What were you hoping they would do? Refuse to play games, release more strongly worded statements, call out certain people? Listing offences that we feel have went against us would make us look petty and achieve nothing in my opinion, the club had done all that we could and releasing a statment a few days before this would not have mattered either!
  13. I dont know what charging £30 would achieve but there must be some other models we can look at? We cant be the only team in the world with a demand for away tickets?
  14. That's the thing I dont get, even with the tims and other fans...Rangers will always be going for 55, until we are going for 56, 57,58 etc. We know that we might not win the league every year, especially in recent seasons with the squad we have had, but the aim should always be winning the title! You can just imagine the team after losing to Accies...dont worry guys they are a premier league team, we will look at it, learn from it and go again. FRAUD!
  15. Replaces the man who makes our entire midfield tick or someone who has played less than 2 games? Maybe in a few years but not at the minute!
  16. Terminated sounds good! Someone posted in the transfer thread that there were rumors he had agreed a deal at another club? Anyway, glad hes gone!
  17. Interesting to hear the manager say the decision was made above him, he was quite adamant that Pena wouldnt be included in the squad/or available for selection? Regardless its good news for the club in my opinion, but what a waste of money!
  18. What do you mean where have you read this thread? lol Saying that hes shite and people are only suggesting we should sign him because he supports Rangers?! Ive seen loads of comments on social media (twitter, instagram etc) from fans saying that he is whoring himself to the support to gain followers and the fact that others have said the same thing is this thread, would suggest that others are also seeing the same as me!
  19. I don't know anything about how many people knew who he was or otherwise, I dont know how you know that either, but people suggesting we should sign a player because they support the team is daft, but its not at daft as the morons saying he is shite, when hes clearly not.
  20. I don't think I would ever join in with the wanes that run onto the pitch but I like how much it annoys all the old Rangers Da's out there, and how much it annoys other teams fans.
  21. For folk saying he is rubbish, have a look at that! Very good records for average teams in the Championship! https://www.whoscored.com/Players/138695/History/Oliver-McBurnie This season he has the 21st highest rating in the entire league, whilst playing for a mid table team. Never understood why people are so quick to criticise and hate on Rangers fans for being vocal about support the team, baffles me!
  22. A bit off topic, but the number of times Worrall did try and pass it out, only for Halliday and David to dump it back at him was beyond belief! Andy Halliday for all his praise in recent weeks never took on Chris Burke once and whilst I am not condoning the mistake by Worrall, we struggled to get the ball out from the back all night and will continue to do so, unless players take some responsibility!
  23. I dont know how some folk on here get through their day! What is Jones supposed to do, not turn up? The manager already put the gauntlet down for him by saying he trusts him, if he doesnt try his best then he is spitting in the faces of those who got him his "dream move" and I think that was obvious in his celebration with their manager. He has got another 6months worth of football to play, if he doesnt do as hes asked and he sits on the bench for 6months, how does that benefit him or us? The obvious way for this to be avoided was for Rangers to buy him now we've got him tied down or for him to have a "slight knock" but I have actually got a bit more respect for him, he was in a lose-lose situation and I think the way he went about shows tremendous strength of character! Might not be a stand out player for us, but hes got far more ability than MOH and will do a job for us.
