Nothing surprises me anymore about our recruitment and yes Ross Wilson calls him big man.

It could be that being vertically challenged and looking like a thirteen year old may be a factor.

Next Manager Discussion Thread

I really do not understand the Sean Dyche thing. Do we really want a manager whose teams sit back and struggle to go forward, long high ball tactics, do not score goals and survival is a success. -
A waster whose head goes down and stops working and cannot be bothered helping his full back when we go behind.
-
Also he kept showing Salah onto his stronger foot in both games so not only does he have no bottle but lacks a brain cell

Well we know that Souter doesn’t and I doubt Roofe has Rangers among his priorities. -

Just what I was thinking 5 minutes into the second half. The team dropped 10 yards off the opposition, sat back and let them do whatever they wanted. As for replacing Jack with Davis just ended any chance of competing in midfield and not recognising that Colak was no threat after about 30 minutes shows that Gio has either no idea or real commitment. The second half was a disgrace from management and players and as for Barasic continually showing Salam on to his strong foot after doing the same at Anfield beggars belief. -

Tillman will not get the time he seems to need to control the ball, decide what to do and move his feet against decent opposition. However, I agree that this level is beyond Arfield as we have seen in Europe in the past few years. Lazy recruitment in this area has come home to bite us. -

My feeling every time I see him play is that he needs far too much time to control the ball, make a pass , shoot etc. Might do well in friendliest or lower league teams but not suited to competitive games against decent opposition. -

Exactly, we do not have the ability in defence to invite teams to attack us and our midfield seem unwilling or unable to pressure opposition and give any protection to the defence. We dodged a bullet tonight thanks to our goalie. -

Fair enough, a huge problem for us. -

He does not have the vision, movement or passing ability to play midfield and he lacks the guile, vision and positional sense to play central defence. That is why he was labelled a midfielder who could play centre back or vice versa; ie not good enough to play either. -

We do not have the ability in defence or midfield to sit back and let them attack, if we do that we will get a doing. We have to find a way to close them down further up the pitch and get them on the back foot by putting pressure on their goal. Does Gio have the bottle and are the players willing and able to work their socks off for 90 minutes like they did in the pressure games in Europe last year? -
To be honest I have no confidence anything much will change with VAR; still the same clowns going to take turns overseeing it.

Yes we tend to struggle against ten men but in general the mindset of the team, when we take the lead in any game, is to slow the tempo and rest on the lead. Last season we dropped so many points because of this tendency.
-
The difference between them and us is that when they are bossing games they go for more goals while we slow the tempo and become lazy, sloppy and lose concentration. At times it was hard to tell which team had the extra man until they tired late on.

Really do not see the point in loaning players to sit on the bench for lower league teams and this has happened for years.

If we fined players for needless pass backs Barasic would be homeless. -

Do the players and the coaching staff not understand goal difference? -
Why would our club say anything about an english championship club player retiring?
