  1. Put down Souttar, Helander, Jack and Roofe. Get rid of Matondo, Davis McGregor. Keep Goldson, Tavenier and Alfredo
  2. I do not think Dyche will get a job at Premiership level. Premiership has moved well away from the 1980’s style which Dyche, Pulis and Allerdyce kept going.Would still fit in to mid championship but not to a club looking to win trophies.
  3. Practice for Dyche appointment? Seriously this seems to be the sole tactic instead of the quick passing and movement that we employed in the 55 season. Poor teams love it when we slow the game down to their level of pace and even more when we try to play a basic high ball game.
  4. Out powered in the air all over the park so why is the only tactic we employ is the high cross into the box?
  5. The second goal was always on the cards when Gio went to a back 3 with the other 2 in the 3 being the wing backs. Crazy since our midfielders tend not to cover anyway. My feeling was that King is being hung out to dry.
  6. “”Falkirk Guru”? The Falkirk supporters around me do not have that recollection. The wee fat guy who hung around asking if he could help carry the cones and posts? That was the description I heard most when I asked about him.
  7. Forward who does not score and who rarely makes an assist, reluctant to protect his full back, will do anything rather than block a shot or close down opponents yet still gets picked.
  8. Surely Gio is trying to get sacked? No one in his right mind would go to a back 3 including Tav and Barasic.
  9. Probably none; Morelos will never be match fit unless he plays and Gio obviously does not want to do that. He is the only one that I would gamble on because strikers are hard to find. Sands would cost too much for a very limited utility player and Tillman will want out as soon as he can.
  10. Really have to look at last night in context; our central defenders got absolutely no protection from Davis, Arfield,Tav and Barasic especially who regularly kept 20 yards away from his wide opponent.
  11. Me too, hard enough having to partner a midfielder trying to be a central defender.
  12. Apart from the consistent strategy of giving opponents 10 plus yards of space to attack us the other thing that baffles me was, when we won free kicks in their half, instead of playing the ball into their box, the ball was immediately passed back and filtered to McGregor to hit long and as always lose possession. This idea the players seem to have that keeping possession involves giving the ball to a keeper is crazy since everyone who watches knows that 7 times out of 10 it will go to the opposition and 3 times out of 10 will go out of play and again give possession away. Lazy play, pass the buck, stand off opponents, do not move to give team mates angles and options added to the inability to find team mates with simple passes means we cannot compete.
  13. Never going to happen and doubt the board would give a shit anyway, season ticket money banked and they know from experience they can get away with treating us like idiots.
  14. Tried to pick a team from the players who are not injured but struggling to pick even 11 that I would give a game. I would never pick McLaughlin, Sands,Tillman, Matondo,Davi’s, Wright as starters in any game because they are not good or competitive even at spfl level. Then we have Sakala, Kent, Arfield, Alfredo where it is lottery whether they will perform at an acceptable level in any game. How did we get to this point? So the team will be made up of the usual plodders and the usual “tactics” with the hope that Colak will manage to get some sporadic service and score with every chance he gets. This has made me even more depressed.
  15. Not a bad shout, after all he has seen so many managers at Everton get the sack.
  16. I don’t that Tillman will succeed anywhere, he seems to be so slow in reactions and needs so much time to control the ball before doing anything and the ambling about on the outskirts of the game when we do not have possession of the ball would have decent managers going apoplectic.
  17. We do play lazy football; no intensity, no pressing, the easy pass backs, ambling when we do have the ball, standing off opponents, the lazy high cross instead of one twos, covering far less ground than opponents, the failure to simply mark opponents at set pieces, no movement to create triangles or even options for our players to make passes. Even entering the field at the start of the second half tonight was embarrassing; the camera focused on Tillman trudging onto the park while the Napoli players in the background ran on which got me thinking whether I have ever seen players not running onto the pitch after the break.
  18. People complain about the turgid football under Gio, I dread to think how the consistent football philosophy of Dyche will go down.
  19. So depressing to try to pick a team with any remote hope to compete in any department. Our defensive options are weak. Our midfield options are limited; Arfield does not have the tactical ability for europe, Davis is no good for a backs to the wall game, Lundstram will run about conceding free kicks and Kamara who is the only one who could show quality in this arena hardly plays now. Upfront we can expect ten minutes from Kent before he loses interest, Colak will be isolated and will hardly touch the ball and any permutation from Tilman, Wright, Sakala and Matondo will lose control/ get caught/ give away the ball as soon as it comes to them. How any board can sit back and allow this state to happen is criminal, especially given what we have gone through in the last decade.
  20. Never seems to work for us in a long time. It is some time since Adam and McGregor became regulars after being loaned out. It sickens me to see our loanees warming part timers benches or getting on for the last few minutes.
  21. My first game was also around that time, still remember the line up; Niven,Shearer, Caldow, McColl, Young and Davi’s, Scott, Simpson, Murray, Baird and Hubbard. Baird was in for Kitchenbrand that game against Hearts. Later the Miller, Brand partnership was awesome along with the fantastic goal machine winger Davie Wilson.
  22. R.I.P Jimmy, fantastic player, a true legend and a lovely humble guy. I was at a Rangers Dinner a number of years ago and he was at our table, honest interesting man who had no airs or graces and was great company.
