  1. Dear Timmy, I realize your limited sectarian education system doesnt teach you the basics like reading and writing...so for your benefit, here are some pictures !!! :nukepiggary: :chopometer:
  2. THIS is spot on... It's precisely because we have played "The Dignified Silence" card, and "The Rangers Way" that we find ourselves in this position, being marginalised, unrepresented and BLAMED for everything at every turn. Time to fight back Bears, or just accept an indefinite future of silent mediocrity !! NO SURRENDER !!
  3. Aye jcb, it was Thomson Allan, and he was a very good goalie.
  4. ...yeah that game was the first ever to be played on a Sunday in Scotland...we were well skelped 3-0 that afternoon, iirc Jocky Scott and big John Duncan (later of Spurs) did the damage. My own first game was the Scottish Cup Final Replay in 1963...sitting on my big brother's shoulders, watching Ralphie Brand scoring two, and my hero Davy Wilson getting the other in a 3-0 gubbing of The Great Un-Washed !!
  5. ...Probably when Willie Henderson was on the right, and Willie Johnston was on the left...ahhh nostalgia, it ain't what it used to be
  6. ...Neil alexander is 33 years old...doubt if you'd get near that amount for him in 1 or 2 years !!
  7. Exactly right WVB...WHEN we win the title this season it should rank alongside ANYTHING we have won in the last twenty years. No it has NOT been pretty to watch, especially since the turn of the year, but given the financial constraints applied by an unsympathetic bank, we are STILL in a position to be crowned Champions by our own efforts !!
  8. If you mean Tomasz Cerny at Hamilton, I disagree. He is a sometimes spectacular goalie, prone to spectacular errors.
  9. Thanks for that Jellie..added that to my list of Of Bear-Friendly venues !
  10. Where abouts in London is The White Bear? Like other posters I used to go to The Cock Taverm to watch the games.
  11. SCIAF = Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund.
  12. After listening to Andy Goram on this evening's programme, I reckon "The Goalie" should be a stick-on for the Public Relations Office at Ibrox. He answered all questions put to him in a humourous and matter of fact way, whilst standing up for the Rangers support...most notably when "Nuremburg Hugh" tried to sully our name by saying that we booed the team off the park after the last game V Septic. Andy RIGHTLY pointed out that it was NOT the Rangers players that were being verbally abused, but Lennon and Brown who were the focal point for our anger. Andy Goram, THANKYOU !!
  13. Don't let the "Cheeky Chappy" image he has made for himself in the media fool you. Ally McCoist is a mature 48 year old man with a hard edge, and and steely determination. IF he steps into the Manager's job at the end of this season, you may rest assured that he will not be in any way inTIMidated by any other manager or any member of the Scottish Hack Pack. I really believe our club will be in safe hands if Ally gets the job.
  14. Get well soon DJ...you are responsible for MANY happy memories for this bear.
  15. Superb article, written with complete honesty, and integrity...but that's EXACTLY what I would expect from a Ranger and a Glenman !!!
  16. Ahh Sandy, you must be of a similar vintage to myself...I have a boxful of these posters from the sixties, that used to be given away free with The Evening Citizen, and Evening Times, in their pre-match Saturday editions. If you REALLY want to sell them, then your best bet would probably be the guy that sells old programmes and other Rangers memorabilia adjacent to the Ibrox Primary School on Edmiston Drive on match days. Better to keep them and show your kids/grandkids, I reckon.
  17. To this topic, I'll repeat my post of Jan.4th 2011... Dear Walter, Tell Mr Levein and the SFA that NO Rangers players will be available for selection for this INSIGNIFICANT, INJURY INDUCING, TIN POT competition !!!
  18. Rosental was on duty at the South African World Cup, as a match analyser for Chilean TV
  19. Dear Walter, Tell Mr Levein and the SFA that NO Rangers players will be available for selection for this INSIGNIFICANT, INJURY INDUCING, TIN POT competition !!!
  20. I reckon the whole feeling about the game was affected for three reasons... 1. The whole place was on an emotional downer because of the Remembrance Factor to the 66 who perished in 1971. 2. Generally the support EXPECTED a win, and subconsciously or otherwise felt that their vocal support was not so important. 3. The club itself MUST shoulder some of the blame for continuing to play over loud music for 20 minutes before kick-off. This discourages the Home support from initiating singing and chanting, and allows the opposition support to sing their own stuff, whilst we sit and listen to pre-recorded and club sanctioned songs, which are not nearly as inspiring to the support as the selection we could generate. PLEASE Rangers, turn the volume down, and ALLOW us to turn OUR volume UP !
  21. The Rangers 3-0 The Scum Miller(2) McCulloch.
  22. Sorry to contradict most on this post, but John Greig is dead on with this. The crowd was split 50/50 at the Old Firm games I went to at Ibrox, Parkhead and Hampden. This stopped at Ibrox just before the "Derry" was converted to the Centenery Stand in 1973, when the Celtic support were allocated the Broomloan Rd., end, the West Enclosure, and part of the Main Stand. Full reconstruction at Ibrox eventually saw them limited to the Broomloan Rd., Stand only. The atmosphere at all Old Firm Games at this time was quite incredible, and far surpassed anything that is generated these days. I often tell my two sons (ages 18 & 20) that if I could, I would take them back 40 years and let them experience the football that I did then...RAW, PASSIONATE, and STANDING UP.
  23. This guy epitomises exactly what it is to play for The Rangers. He unashamedly wears his heart on his sleeve, and is unafraid to say publicly that he has been, is now, and always will be a RANGER. We should be extremely proud of him. Every time you pull on that Royal Blue shirt, you carry the respect and hopes and dreams of millions of "Bears". Naisy, I wish you a LONG and SUCCESFUL Rangers career.
