If this had happened to a current or former Rangers player people would be getting banned for the shite they're posting in here. Shocking what's happened to him, hope he recovers well and is sensible enough to have a long think about whether it's worth it carrying on playing.

Loved watching Aluko when he was with us but a bit strange everyones happily saying they'd take him back but are fuming with the rest when he rejected getting his contract taken over as well? Is there something else i'm missing about it? Genuine question.

What a fantastic idea. The whole reason we're struggling against shitey wee division 3 teams is because they have big bastard defenders who we keep kicking the ball long too which they deal with easily. But I bet if we throw the ball at them instead everything will be just fine and we'll score loads

There is a reason no top team in the world plays 4-4-2 anymore. Playing a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 can be much more attacking than a 4-4-2. People should wrap up this pish that 'we need to play 2 upfront to be more attacking' because it's nonsense. I agree we need to be more on the front foot and controlling games but we should do that by pushing the team up, pressing these shite Division 3 players high up the pitch to win the ball back and passing them to death. Us playing 2 up top will be McCulloch and Sandaza and it seems the only way they get service is by long balls from back to front which when your playing against big 6 foot mutant defenders just wont work.

He's a good manager who hasn't been given a chance by alot of people in england because firstly he disrupted the cosyness at chelsea then secondly replaced Harry redknapp who the media were always fond for. Think he underestimated the challenge at Chelsea thinking he could go in and reshape the club in 1 or 2 transfer windows and didnt realise the extent of 'cliques' that had formed. Fancy him to do alot better at spurs and if not there's no doubt he'll be successful abroad

Punting the ball long has absolutely fuck all to do with alexander and isn't his fault whatsoever. I was at the game and was looking at it, everytime he got the ball nobody in our defence offers him a pass, they all just turn and look forward straight away. so he's forced to go long and it probably frustrates him as much as us. In an ideal world our full backs would push on, the centre backs would split and a midfielder drop into that space so he has options but if nobody does that theres nothing Alexander can do.

Read loads of things he's said, theres a good page that's easy to find where he talks about his formation and each position which is interesting. Good young manager who has a belief of how to play football and sticks to it. Hopefully liverpool are in it for the long haul with him because it'll take time to get them playing how he wants.

The reason people think the EPL is so much better is because that's what Sky tell them. Every match thats on they shove it down our throats at every opportunity. People say theres no drama or excitement in La Liga but I bet those people couldn't name where any of the clubs finished outside of the top 2 last year, or seen how villareal, one of the countries biggest clubs were relegated on the final day with minutes/seconds left. People dismiss La Liga as being asboring because they don't know La Liga. We could all name the majority of players in the EPL because of it's exposure but not many know any good players in La Liga, and there's plenty. Outside the top 2, falcao, llorente and munian you'd be hard pressed for alot of people to name anyone. Anyway, the proof is in the results. Barca have won the CL 3 teams in recent years, beating arsenal in a game they deserved to win, beating Man Utd in Rome in a game they deserved to win and completely outplaying ManUtd, In England. then Athletico madrid and Bilbao have completely outclassed Man Utd and Chelsea in recent times, Barca demolish Arsenal on a nearly yearly basis in the CL now and even when Chelsea beat Barca in the CL semi even Chelsea fans would admit football-wise they would never of had a chance. Another interesting point is that in the last 10 years there's been 10 spanish teams qualifying for the CL compared to only 8 in England, another case that there's plenty of competition in spain below the top 2. Lastly, theres the small fact that Spain have won the Last 3 major international tournaments, 2 Euros and a World Cup, with an almost completely home-grown squad. La Liga is the best football league in the world bar none. Case closed.

Do the youth teams play on set days and times every week or does it vary? i'm thinking about trying to go along to see what they're like.
