Line up feels just like Sundays starting 11. Very little natural width very little mobility in the midfield and the same old guard asked to go out and perform at a level they haven't been close to for weeks. Add to Roofe coming in from nowhere and you have a feeling that Clement is now quickly running out of solutions in how to get this team to perform. Six of the staring 11 are thirty or over. We need a massive clear out.

Imagine a scenario where Goldson and Tav decide to see out their existing contracts. Tav will almost 35 and Goldson 33 by the time they expire plus they will be top earners. It would be an absolute waste of money to then compound this expensive mistake by offering Lundstram a two or three year deal as a top earner. This has been the problem for years, we have a real problem when it comes to moving players on. We continually make the same mistakes. Buy a player give them a platform where they can perform, receive bids when the plan works, reject the bid, let them run down the contract and leave for nothing or very little (Kent, Kamara, Morelos) or fork out good money fail to get the best out of them and let them go at a massive loss.

Being played as an number nine at Utrecht and scoring goals. Sums up our scouting under Beale that he was played behind Dessers as a ten. Given our outlay to sign him he comes back for pre season and gets a run of games as a number nine.

Running out of belief is the biggest issue. A team that believes finds a way to win games. To many of the usual suspects let us down once again. It's up to the manager to find a way to get them going again. I would like to think come Wednesday there will be at least five changes to the starting line up.

Sadly I have to agree, but he is by far not the priority to replace.

Goldson should be the Balogun option. 15-20 games per season to allow rotation of the squad. Playing game after game is no longer an option.
-
Far to many of this squad pushing thirty. Six of the starting 11 were aged between 29 - 32. Some of which have the highest number of appearances of the squad. At some point this will bite and start to effect the energy in our play. We have younger options but for whatever reason they are not getting a chance. So is it a case of the younger guys not pushing hard enough in training our our manager opting to stick with the older options.

Part of me thinks our manager has allowed himself to be caught up in nonsense that surrounds our club. Go back to the end of last year and the beginning of this year and we were rotating four minimum per game. Lately he has been fairly rigid in selection even when it obvious one or two are miles of it. Not even sure we made all five subs today and suddenly we have Dowell who hasn't kicked a ball since January coming into the midfield ahead of Raskin. Not saying Raskin is the answer but we do need some younger more energetic players in the starting 11.

Haven't heard his post match interview yet but it will be interesting to see if he calls out any of the player individually or goes down the collective route. Today feels like the league was lost but it's not. We can still win from this position, seems very unlikely but it is possible. Starting 11 has been needing a refresh for a while and the likes of Tav Goldson and Lundstram have been an accident waiting to happen.

Very few pass marks from that half. So many slack passes, in particular Tav and Dowell have been the biggest culprits. Guilty of trying to force the play which has led to turning over possession in dangerous areas.
-
Hopefully Sima is fit enough to start and possibly Matondo given a run out from the left. Time to put the debacle of midweek behind us and get three points with a good performance.

Half empty, huge opportunity missed today. All the gloss about character and getting a draw from the jaws of defeat is deflection. We were lucky to still be within touching distance at half time. We improved second half but let's face it kicking the ball in the right direction and stringing more than two passes together would be an improvement.

Trouble with Goldson is, he keeps shutting his bloody eyes when going to head the ball.
I am just sick off seeing him being out of position or losing a 50 / 50 ball. Missing free headers, all the time looking around at everyone else as if it's there fault. Tav is equally as poor but he balances the mistakes with goals. Goldson hasn't scored in over a year. With the amount of corners and free kicks we have that's a shocking stat.

One up side to the next game against them is we are due our annual victory.
-
Center half pairing going forward has to be Soutar and Balogun. Goldson was a bomb scare again today. Puts the defence under so much pressure by always needing two three touches to control a simple pass. Couple that with his amazing ability to miss free headers in either box.

Better second, but that first half was embarrassing, no intensity no fight or dig allowing them to boss the game. Started the wrong team and left the changes to late. At no point in the game did we have any control.

Fucking hopeless

Not good enough from Butland
-
Not really getting g in behind them at all. Looks like we could play all day and not score.

Surprised Diomande is still on. Game has passed him by.

Silva, Cantwell, Lawrence and Roofe have been largely anonymous for most of the half. Ball is taking an age to go forward and when it does it's into the channels and no one is getting on to them. Lundstram for a while was Dundee's best player as he kept regaining possession for them. Midfield is not mobile enough to break the lines and support the attack.
