For teams like us, whose domestic league is dire and has not real income from sponorship/Tv, the way the groupings work are prett much vital. The same system that limits our chances - it doesn't totally negate them because there is always a chance - brings us in a lot more money than a knockout would because chances are, we'd get knocked out early more often than not and income falls even further. The seeded draw is fine in a way, but the way it is rigged so that teams from the same nation cannot play each other, also rigged for TV - ie certain teams have to be in opposite sides of the draw - severly limits the potential match ups and makes it all a tad predictable. I don't see why teams from the same nation should be kept apart anyway. Seed the top eight Champions and then have an all in draw for the rest if we must have seeding. Non champions should be seeded lower than champions but we all know that will never happen.

Weiss was clearly MoM. People saying he was greedy are talking out their arses. It will take time for the team to adjust to the fact we actually have a decent winger, who can beat people, deliver a decent cross and is prepared to have a shot at goal. He has a great free kick on him, his deliveries from them were generally spot on. But once the rest of the players adjust to Weiss, and Jelavic settles in, Davis gets used to his centre role, the team will shape up. At least, if nothing else, they are battling away even when the chips are down. Passing today was woeful a lot of the time, and players are way too static. Beattie I guess isn't yet fit so we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt, a goal will certainly help him. Three points is three points, we'd probably have drawn that match with the display a couple of season ago.

Once our players learn to pass the ball, and start to realise what Weiss is doing from free kicks we could have a decent team. But they need to show a lot more urgency, composure and movement... just like that

Do they not have pots with the teams names and pots with the groups, so like they would put the groups into a bowl that Spurs can be in and thats how they solve that problem.

In the Champions qualifying rounds we'd face champions of countries like Finland, Bulgaria, Ireland etc. Since you would think we would still be seeded fairly high, even the final round would like be against the likes of Rosenborg, Salzburg etc etc not 'easy' ties but certainly not ties that we should be thinking about losing. I don't think we're quite that bad!

The STV report seems much more believable, the Herald just posting shite as usual, which is why I never spend money on it. Doesn't seem any reason why it won't be done and dusted by 5pm Friday so he has at least a chance of playing some part against St Johnstone.

I reckon we should put in bids from players from Forfar, Stirling Albion and some shitty team in the Conference just to make the wee bigot go out and bid for them cos it looks like he wants to buy anything and everything. Not only will he blow up eventually and shoot himself, but a squad of 117 players from 43 different countries, yeah that always works. Ok theres a 1% chance it might work.
